He was professor and dean of the Department of Mathematics on the west campus. His passion for teaching engaged and helped the many students he encountered over the years. The Valencia’s Board of Trustees unanimously elected him to emeritus status in October 2005. Dr. Morris enjoys helping people of other cultures. He has traveled to six continents sharing his passion and expertise with others. He enjoys time with his wife, Angela, along with eight children now grown and thirteen grandchildren. He has traveled to Brazil, Peru, Romania, Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Germany, Hungary, Mexico, Cameroon, and Ethiopia with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH), a worldwide community of volunteers providing eye exams and fitted glasses for those unable to afford them. Dr. Morris also travels annually to Cape Town, South Africa to teach mathematics in Portland High School in Mitchell’s Plain. He co-founded Volunteer Education Support 4 Africa (VES4A), a South African Section 21 not-for-profit company, with Portland colleagues launching an ongoing exchange program for the teachers and students of the high schools in Cape Town. Dr. Morris spends his Mondays with the HOPE Team of the Healthcare Center for the Homeless, an outreach team providing access to dental, vision, and medical services for the homeless of Central Florida. An author of various articles featuring biblical themes, Dr. Morris is a double alumnus of the Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University of Tallahassee, Florida. He holds two doctorates in both Theology (ThD) and Mathematics Education (PhD) from the United Bible College & Seminary and the University of South Florida respectively. He is the Senior Bishop of the Tribes of EL Bethel Temple of Jesus International, a consortium of six churches in the Central Florida area who celebrated their year of Jubilee in the year 2008.
