Dear student:
While you are here, you will obey the rules. Democracy doesn’t rule this room, I didn’t have an electoral campaign to be your teacher, you didn’t vote for me. I am your teacher and you are my students because of destiny. I accept this privilege with a lot of respect and responsibility knowing what teaching implies. When I accepted it, I got the obligation to prepare myself to teach you. I am not your friend, we can share a lot of things, a lot of ideas, a lot of feelings, a lot of good moments and that’s better than just two people who know each other. In this classroom you will do what I order and you should not complain about it because everything I will order will be motivated by respect and caring. Maybe, it would be a little harder for you to understand, but I trust that we will learn how to get along. Please trust me. I know obedience is hard to do, as the definition says “compliance with an order, request, or law or submission to another's authority.” (google dictionary). When I order you to do something in class, the only purpose is to prepare you for your future. I am a strict teacher because I care about each of you, I care about your future. If I didn’t care about you I wouldn’t be this strict. Please try harder, do your best in every class and you’ll see that you will be able to read, speak, and write fluently in Spanish. I hope, from the bottom of my heart, the best for you in this class and the rest of your classes.
