Make a website for students to contact you
Don’t talk to students about other students OR in front of other students
Same goes for faculty/staff---avoid conversations about students in front of other students
WORKING WITH DIFFICULT STUDENTS
Pull them aside. Never confront them in front of their peers
Don’t talk down
Keep a calm voice
Have a process for consequences
If student argues, Don’t argue back
Come down to their level
BE FIRMEstablish consistent rules and routines
Follow through
Don’t be afraid to say “NO”

Use a variety of instructional strategies
