BELONG BELONGThe church is more than an event you attend or a venue you go to; it is a spiritual family where believers go through life together.

The Belong Class will help you understand the vision and philosophy of Hope Church and how you can play a part in this spiritual family. If you are a Christian, visiting us regularly, talk to your Life Group Leader about rooting in this community!

Everyone can play a part in building the church. The Contribute Class helps you to understand why you should serve and how you can use the talents that God has blessed you with to contribute to His Kingdom.

This class provides tips on how you can have a basic understanding of why Christians serve and what it means to contribute, identify character qualities that a contributor ought to possess and discover biblical principles and practical applications for serving in ministries and/or Life Groups.

God is interested in who we are, not just what we do; and the Bible speaks of believers as being new creations, who will slowly but surely grow “to be conformed to the image of His Son” (2 Corinthians 5:17; Romans 8:28). But that does not mean that we mature automatically. Instead we need to intentionally learn how to “take off your old self with its practices… and put on the new self”. In this Part 3 of our “Growing into Christlikeness” series, join us as we learn how to practise faithfulness in our relationships, develop godly contentment and cultivate a life of integrity. 4, 11, 18 Oct 1:30pm — 3:30pm

For married couples who are planning or approaching parenthood, the Parenting Preparation Course will equip and prepare them to be parents. This course will empower participants to navigate the challenges of becoming a parent for the first time - from planning to conception and before the baby arrives.

This course covers the second half of the Old Testament - the Poetic books and the Prophetic literatures. It includes the study of the historical, geographical and cultural backgrounds of each of these books, as well as outlines of their contents. Special emphasis will be placed on the major theological themes of each book. This course thus provides an important foundation for interpreting and understanding the Old Testament and offers a practical and contemporary understanding of God’s redemptive plan and purposes for His church and the world.

The twentieth century had at times been called the “Century of the Holy Spirit” because during this period of time, the world witnessed the successive revitalisations of the Church through the enablement of the Spirit. This empowerment by the Spirit continues to open up new possibilities for the Church, but also presents the Church with old temptations. Join us for this seminar as we pursue an in-depth study on 1 Corinthians 12-14 so that we could heed Apostle Paul’s advice not “to be uninformed about the gifts of the Spirit” (1 Corinthians 12:1).

In a world filled with many voices, sexuality has become a major concern in the lives of Christians. Many have questions. Others seek restoration. If God created sex for a good purpose, why does it seem so far away in our society? This class is introduced as a safe space to discuss and learn about what Scripture has to say on this topic.

Though the book of Ezekiel is not often preached or taught, its rich truths about God’s nature and expectations of His people are too important to ignore. God’s sovereignty over history, hatred of sin and faithfulness to His word was revealed in stunning detail in the many visions and prophecies recorded in the book. Finally, His promise to restore and renew Israel is an encouragement to believers of all ages that they too can look forward to a future where God will vindicate His people and rule the world with justice and goodness. 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 Nov 1:30pm — 4:30pm

Ready to get married and make a pledge before God? Have many questions about marriage? Want to learn more about what it means to build a Christlike marriage, keep the love going strong, and live out a God-honouring marriage?

The Marriage Preparation Course is specially designed for couples at this stage of their relationship. Consisting of valuable biblical lessons and insightful practical tips taught by trained and experienced (in marriage, yes!) instructors, this course helps couples to evaluate their journey as a couple and take further steps into marriage.

Completion of this course is a pre-requisite for couples to be married by Hope Church Singapore, as we really want you to benefit from this programme! Note: A Marriage Tool - Prepare and Enrich will be conducted with your marriage mentor and this fee (USD 35) is excluded from the MPC Fee.

Have you wondered why we spend so much time in our weekend services singing in praise and worship? Or perhaps, were you more inclined to worship with songs of a particular musical style than of other styles?

Beyond the practical things we can learn about worship, Worship 101 seeks to delve deeper into the topic of worship by examining the Word of God and uncover the biblical truths of worship so that we approach with the right heart attitudes. This course will also take a brief peek into the constantly changing style of music in worship across time, in order to distill the essence of our worship to a constant and unchanging God. 14, 21, 28 Nov 1:30pm — 3:30pm

What is prophecy and what does it mean to prophesy? How can we make sense of prophecies we receive with Scripture? In this class, we will be introduced to the subject of prophecy. We will learn about the role of prophecy in the church, and how to go about it in a way that edifies one another and builds the body of Christ. 14, 21, 28 Nov 1:30pm — 3:30pm
