Subject - Social Studies April Activity - Family photo albums help us to relive the times we have spent with our family. The albums, therefore, act as visual sources. Create one such album of your family. On the first page, draw a family tree. Thereafter paste photographs of your family. Give interesting captions to your photographs. May Activity - 1. Make a milky way galaxy. - You need a black sheet chart paper, glue, golden glitter and old newspaper. Step 1 - Take a sheet of black chart paper and draw a rough sketch of the milky way galaxy as shown. The galaxy is spiral - shaped with five arms and a round centre. Step 2 - Apply glue along the lines of the galaxy. Step 3 - Sprinkle golden glitter on the glue. Then tilt the paper onto some newspaper to shake off the loose glitter. - You now have picture of the milky way galaxy each grain of glitter represents a single star like that of our sun. July Activity - Prepare a play in class. The theme is democracy. The whole class should participate, Include the following. 1 Benefits of living in democracy 2 Problem during elections 3 Confusion in people minds on the day of voting 4 Increasing gap between the rich and the poor. 5 Waiting for the government to take measures instead of participating. August Activity - Visit an orphange and spend time with the children there. Carry old text books and unused notebooks for them. Take toys that you don't use and story books that you no longer read. September Activity - Every year Teacher's Day is celebrated with enthusiasm. This year organize a 'Workers Day' for the helping staff of your school.
