Set out your 3 basic rules: e.g.
No talking over teacher; Hands up, no shouting out; Only one person talking at a time

Your lesson starts in the corridor.Be on time.Meet & greet.
Door-stepping
Date, title, LOs, starter ready on the board.
Keep pupils busy at all times; they should never be waiting for the next activity.
No dead time
KEEP IT MOVING
Establish clear routines.
Insist on good presentation,date, title, underlined etc
Insist on getting the small things right
‘SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL’
Have high expectations ofeffort, conduct and work
HIGH EXPECTATIONS
Act and follow up; don’t make idle threats. Warn then carry out.
Keep a note of who you’re going to keep behind.
Follow up and follow through.

Criticize the behaviour not the person
DON’T GET PERSONAL
Follow school sanctions policy
Be firm and fair
SCHOOL POLICY
Reward and praise as much as possible
If you have lots of pupils misbehaving, acknowledge the ones who are following instructions
Take action later with a few. Pick them off gradually, one at a time if necessary. It may be a long term battle. YOU WILL WIN!
