Horse Camp Held June 13 & 14

Clark County's annual horse camp took place June 13th and 14th. On Thursday evening, we all went to the fairgrounds and had a Trail clinic. We had another full day of clinics on Friday which took place at M&M Stable and Arena in Greenwood. We rode from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and were instructed by Sherrie Nichols and Jody Zamzow-Woller. These days were full of riding, educational credits, and socializing. We are all looking forward to a ranch riding clinic on Saturday, June 29. We would like to say a big thank you to the 4-H Leaders Federation for matching the funds to hold these clinics!

We are still looking for adult and older youth volunteers for the 2019 Clark County Fair August 6—11. We need help with checking exhibits in on: Tuesday—checking exhibits in Wednesday—scribing/entering results Thursday—helping as needed Friday—helping as needed Saturday—helping as needed Sunday—releasing exhibits These are all easy to do—seriously—and with our new fair program it’s even easier. If this is something you might be interested in or have questions about please contact: Christine Hollar / 715-743-5121 / [email protected]

Fair Superintendents Needed for the Following Areas: Animal & Veterinary Sciences - J10 Clothing - J26 Computers - J21 Cultural Arts - 18 Electricity - J23 Flowers & Houseplants - J15 Knitting/Crocheting - J27 Mechanical Sciences - J24 Natural Sciences - J16 Photography - J20 Plant & Soil Science - J14

You assist the judge(s) while judging, note taking as needed for projects, staple ribbon placement onto exhibitor tag and place and display projects neatly. Work with any volunteers in your area and guide them in their tasks (notes, stapling, ribbon placement in FairEntry, displaying projects, retrieving projects, etc.) This is a little on the job training but very self-explanatory.

Fair Tags When attaching your fair tag to your project. Rip off the bottom portion along the perforated line and keep that and bring it with you when you return to pick up projects on Sunday (so we can get the appropriate project back to the right person). Then fold and tuck the exhibitors name up and into the half moon cut into the fair tag. Good to go!

Hello Hollar Here, Time has flown and we will start our first 4-H camp of the summer this Sunday (6/23)...I am thinking what happened to spring...Ayekarumba. Camp begins SEVEN full weeks of 4-H fun ending with the Clark County Fair. Take a look at the jam packed calendars of June and July, needless to say I will be in camp mode until July 20. And then when I return from vacation I will be in fair mode. Clark County 4-H was the fortunate recipient of a $2,500 Monsanto Fund grant that Ryan Pralle identified in his request of these funds. We have pur-chased a kayak trailer to haul the kayaks around that we purchased last year with the same grant funding string. In addition, we are getting a portable bleacher for the fine arts building to help with seating and seeing the judging of exhibits taking place. Enjoy the remainder of your summer—it will move with or without you!
