Vocational nurses may also work in clinics; be employed as utilization reviewers who evaluate medical records in hospitals and doctors’ offices; and participate in many other health-related areas. Qualified applicants are selected to enter the program based on objective testing conducted throughout the Introduction to Health Occupations 100 course. The LVN program does not maintain a waiting list. Selected students and alternates are required by the Health Sciences Department to: •Attend the orientation screening for qualified applicants •Complete a physical examination, required immunizations and CPR certification •Show proof of student malpractice insurance •Have all foreign transcripts translated into English and evaluated for equivalency (equal to 12th grade in the U.S.A.). Fundamentals of nursing courses with actual patient and hospital experience begin in the first semester. Student nurses practice at hospitals all over the San Gabriel Valley. College AdmissionAdmission to Citrus College is opento high school graduates and anyperson 18 years of age or over.

To enroll, submit an application foradmission online at:https://wingspan.citruscollege.edu

New students enrolled in five ormore units and planning to earn anassociate degree, a certificate ofachievement, or a skill award musttake an English and math skillsassessment. In addition, new stu-dents who plan to enroll in English,mathematics or reading classes mustparticipate in the skills assessmentprocess.

Concurrent Enrollment for High School StudentsSome programs and classes are available to current junior and senior high school students.Interested students should contacttheir high school counselor or thecollege’s Admissions and RecordsOffice.

Associate DegreeFor an associate degree, a studentmust complete 60 degree-applicableunits of work and fulfill specific gen-eral education requirements, includ-ing electives and physical education.A cumulative grade-point average of2.0 (“C”) or above is required.
