Cisco Networking Academy Access
This document provides a step-by-step walkthrough for teams on how to complete in the Cisco
Networking Challenge Quiz and Packet Tracer. Please read the instructions carefully before you begin.
Teams will not be tested on IPv6 in CyberPatriot IX
1. To Access the Cisco Quiz and Packet Tracer: o Log on www.uscyberpatriot.org and click Competition OR go to
https://volunteer.uscyberpatriot.org/ o Scroll to the bottom of the Dashboard o Print or copy each teams Cisco Login and Password
2. Navigate to www.netacad.com
3. Click on “Log In”
Log into the site using credentials from your Coach’s Dashboard o Note: Each teams’ Cisco Login and Cisco Password is a derivative of their Team
Number and Unique Identifier. Hence, if your Coach provides you with the Cisco Credentials that are completely different from your Team Number and Unique Identifier, please notify your coach of the discrepancy. Example below:

4. Click on CP-IX Round 1
5. Welcome CyberPatriot Cisco Networking Challenge page:
Part 1: To complete Cisco Quiz (Note: There isn’t any restriction on the order in which teams complete the exercise (Quiz or Packet Tracer)
a. Click “Click Here to Start the Networking Challenge Quiz”
b. Click “Take the Quiz”
c. Select your answers
d. When done taking the quiz, click on the “Submit Quiz” button at the bottom of the
page.
Part 2: To complete Cisco Packet Tracer:
a. Please download Packet Tracer 7.0 if you haven’t already
b. Click “Click Here to Start the Packet Tracer Competition”
c. Read the Packet Tracer Instructions
d. Download the Packet Tracer file
e. Open the Packet Tracer 7.0 software that you downloaded
f. Click on “Option” –> “User Profile”
- Enter your team number (e.g. 09-09998) and coach’s email
g. Click on “File”Locate the CP-IX Round 1 final.pka file you downloadedOpen
h. Opening the CP-IX Round 1 final.pka file will populate the exercise for the Round.
a. Read the scenario
b. Complete the exercise
i. When done with the exercise save file.
a. Change file name. File naming convention : PT-Round_team number.pka
Example: Team: 09-9998 file name for Round 1 should be
PT-Round 1 09-9998.pka
b. Remember where you saved your file.
j. Log back in www.netacad.com if you are not already logged in.
k. Click on “CP-IX Round 1”Click on “Click Here to Start the Packet Tracer Competition”
l. Click on “Submit Assignment”
m. Upload the .pka file you saved with your team number in it.
