Perry Anthony Bell, 24, of 11 Blossom Lane in Lebanon was sentenced to five years in prison in Marion Circuit Court recently after his pro-bation was revoked on an underlying charge of theft by unlawful taking over $500.

In other circuit court news:

- Andreas Beltran, a.k.a. Andres Beltran, 22, of 1437 Pheasant Run in Mishawaka, Ind., was sentenced to 10 months and 23 days for facili-tation to trafficking in mari-juana. He received credit for time served in Indiana.

Beltran entered an Alford plea, which means he is not admitting guilt but there is enough evidence to convict him.

- William S. Whitehouse, 43, of 110 Spencer Hamilton Road in Loretto received two years of probation on a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He was ordered to pay $175 court costs.

Sentencing pending- Anthony L. Pittman, 25,

of 10298 S. Lincoln Walnut Street in Walton pled guilty to facilitation to trafficking in

marijuana.His sentencing has been

scheduled for July 26. A charge of first-degree

persistent felony offender was dismissed.

- Joshua Ramsey, 27, 64 St. Catharine Street in Lebanon pled guilty to theft by unlaw-ful taking (auto). His sentenc-ing has been scheduled for March 22.

Lebanon man gets five years on theft, probation violation

Preliminary statistics* indi-cate that 11 people died in 10 separate crashes on Kentucky roadways from Monday, Jan. 17, through Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012.

Nine of the crashes involved motor vehicles and six of the victims were not wearing seat belts. Single-fatality crashes occurred in Bath, Christian, Clay, Jefferson, Logan, Ohio, Simpson and Union counties. The suspected use of alco-hol was a factor in the Bath County crash.

One double-fatality motor vehicle crash occurred in Spencer County.

One pedestrian involved crash occurred in Greenup

County.Through Jan. 22, prelimi-

nary statistics* indicate that 36 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways dur-ing 2012. This is 11 more fatalities than reported for the same time period in 2011. There were 32 motor vehicle fatalities and 18 of those vic-tims were not wearing seat belts. Four of those crash-es involved a commercial motor vehicle. Three crashes involved a pedestrian. One crash involved a motorcycle and the victim was wearing a helmet. A total of five fatali-ties have resulted from crash-es involving the suspected use of alcohol.

Citizens can contribute to highway safety by reporting erratic drivers to the Kentucky State Police toll-free at 1-800-222-5555. Callers will remain anonymous and should give a description of the vehicle, location, direction of travel and license number if pos-sible.
