Recent news for CINC

✤ Recipient of a Federal Broadband Grant totaling 11.5 million. This was grant was applied for by CINC through UW Extension. (Press Release PDF)

✤ The grant will add more than 200 miles of fiber-optic cable and 1,300 square miles of wireless (WIMax) coverage for the Chippewa Valley.

✤ We are one of five communities around the state receiving grants which totaled 32 million for the state of Wisconsin.

Page 12: C.I.N.C

What this grant means for CFSD?✤ Continued improvements for our existing infrastructure.

✤ Continued cost savings

✤ Use of a WiMax wireless signal within our educational community. Use to bridge the digital divide?

Page 13: C.I.N.C

What have we learned?

✤ We have and will continue to have substantial savings as a school district.

✤ We are collaborating with other partners within our communities to share resources and costs. Relationships are built.

✤ Control and flexibility.

✤ A decision made by the board and district displayed great vision and foresight.

✤ Confidence to take this next step.
