by Ciaran Finnegan
One day Colin decided to go on a journey.
He decided to visit a place
really really really far away.
Colin was going to MARS!
He thought it would take too long to walk.
So instead he decided to take the bus.
He asked the driver.
"Everybody knows that buses don't
go that far...The driver replied.
"...there is a rocket in town, but that is
about as far as I can take you.
"
"
So Colin took the bus into town to find the rocket the driver had spoken about.
Unfortunately though he was left disappointed because he discovered there was no rocket after
all... well not a real one.
It did however give Colin a rather good idea!
He wasted no time,
and rushed home...
...to turn the idea
into a plan
Plans can make the most difficult of tasks possible and Colin proved just that.
With little more than a hammer, a few nails and some other stuff he had found lying around.
Colin built himself a rocket!
Then after a late lunch...
...Colin left for Mars!
...Colin left for Mars!
Looking out of the window of his rocket he could see that he had
landed on the surface of a
red rocky planet.
Wasting no time he changed
into his space suit and stepped out to see what
Mars had on offer for a
young adventurer.
He was not disappointed...
...because there were loads
of strange rocks to see...and lots of jumping around to do
...and lots of jumping around to do
...Mars was possibly the most amazing place Colin
had ever been.
He just wished there was someone else here to share it all with.
Eventually he decided it was time to go home.
But before he did he made sure he took a sample of dirt, just as a reminder of his time on the red planet.
Then Colin got back into his rocket...
...and went back to Earth
Tired from his travels he headed straight
to bed.
Maybe one day Colin would return
for another adventure on
Mars...
...but next time he won't take the bus.
One day Colin went on a journey.
A journey to a place
far far far away!
So far in fact that Colin decided to take the bus...
"Definitely the best book I've ever been in...Colin
