INDUSTRY REFERENCES - COMMENDATIONS
Brian J. Ratner: Executive Board Member - President of Forest City Texas
Brian has worked for me as the Director of Project Controls for the past four years. Brian’s responsibilities
have included improvement of our project management processes and communication with third party
vendors and consultants through various systems. To put it in simple terms, Brian brought us into the 21st
Century. Through Brian’s efforts, we were able to track our schedules, costs, and increase productivity. I now
have the ability to go on line to access any project and access any project documentation, including schedules, meeting
minutes change orders etc. Brian’s work for my group served as a basis for installing programs throughout the company,
particularly in the development and construction areas. Brian is respected throughout the company and is a team player who
has an ability to get a bunch of old-fashioned folks like me to adapt to doing things in a much more efficient manner.
Bill Ross: Chief Financial Officer / EVP of Strategic Growth at Donley's, Inc.
Brian is a hard worker who is creative and focused on adding value. In his position as Director of Project
Controls he went well beyond his position and title and led multiple efforts to increase efficiency and
effectiveness across our development operations. He introduced process mapping, decision matrices, and new
technology that allowed our teams to work better together.
Emerick J. Corsi: Past-President of Real Estate Services at Forest City Enterprises
Brian is a very diligent person. He takes every task assigned to him as important and fulfills them in a timely
manner. Brian’s work product and attention to detail are the best I have seen to date. He prides himself in
asking the right questions to get the correct product. Brian established the Buzzsaw work product to coordinate
our 3rd party companies with our internal departments. In 2 years Brian saved the company millions of dollars in time,
paper, postage and etc adding to the bottom line of the company. Brian works smart and long hours to achieve the goals of
the organization. Because of Buzzsaw we got our answers much quicker and that resulted in more timely developments and
additional savings in construction dollars. Brian would be an asset to anyone’s team.
Chris Wichmann: Vice President, Construction at Portman Holdings
Brian is diligent, hard working and extremely effective at managing and implementing project controls at all
levels of development and construction. He has a vast knowledge and experience with all aspects of
construction. His experience and knowledge allows him to effectively communicate new strategies for
controlling the project budget and schedules to facilitate a successful overall delivery of an on time and under
budget project. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Brian and would welcome the opportunity to work with him again in the
future.
Mark Bulmash: SVP, Development - The Howard Hughes Corporation
I had the distinct pleasure of working with Brian for the last four years. In that time, Brian set up a number of
systems that helped our development and construction teams execute their projects faster and more efficiently.
We saved considerable expense because our projects were set up on Buzzsaw, which controlled the versions of
drawings, circulated them electronically to all members of the team and helped us control unnecessary
drawing changes without the permission of the team leaders. These systems also helped us track design and construction
changes and their respective costs. Brian is an expert on process and on setting up project controls. He listens well to people
and can translate this into useable and user friendly systems. Finally, Brian is a great person who is easy to work with. I
recommend Brian Finnegan without hesitation.
Jim Gajoch Project Executive - The Weitz Company
Brian has a tremendous knowledge of Project Controls. His realistic approach to scheduling, total project
delivery experience, his ability to develop budgets and assess/project actual costs and schedule performance is
commendable. He possesses great interpersonal skills, is committed and can work successfully with anyone
under any situation.
