From Father Jim’s Desk ...
The words of our Lord teach us powerful and essential lessons for our Christian lives as they surely did for the apostles. In Sunday’s Gospel, we are reminded that there is nothing we can find or gain on earth more valuable than what God has waiting for those who love him. Jesus teaches the Apostles that life on earth will have challenges when they follow their call, but noth-
ing will be more valuable than true discipleship! We too face challenges in our lives and just like the apostles, we are called to follow our Lord’s path through it all. We recognize in our faith that this gift of life we are given is incredi-ble, and yet meant for so much more. We are meant for eternal life and joy with God. Let us embrace our call this day to focus on where our true joy is found and what God is calling us to do today.
On June 21st, we hit a wonderful milestone celebrating 25 years as a parish family! Although various plans to commemorate this year of anniversary are delayed, we are working on wonderful ways to cel-ebrate this 25th year as Church of the Resurrection. Stay tuned!
We would like to welcome and officially introduce two new staff members that have joined our parish team. Our new parish secretary is Brittany Barnes. Brittany has a solid foundation in providing care for people, a very kind and com-passionate demeanor, and a motivated spirit to serve the people of God well. She has completed her training with Joan and is greatly enjoying this new opportunity as she strives to bring her gifts and talents to the parish team. We also have a new part time administrative office assistant, Terri Polenik, who has been tremen-dous in providing additional office assistance and has taken on the role of managing our week-ly bulletin. Terri also brings with her a joyful spirit and a knowledgeable background providing additional care and assistance to our office team.
PUBLIC MASS GUIDELINES It is with such great joy that we started having public Masses on June 1, 2020. There are a few important guidelines we would like to highlight today as we have begun to return to Mass.
1. The Sunday Mass obligation remains lifted by Bishop Malesic for the foreseeable future to all the faithful in the Diocese of Greensburg. This means that no one is required to attend Masses. Diocesan streamed Masses will continue.
2. Masks will be required upon attendance of all Masses. Please bring your own mask with you. We will have a few extra new masks at every site just in case you don’t have one but please be mindful there are only a few.
3. Please respect social distancing. Seating will be 6 feet apart. Families of the same household may sit together. Ushers will help guide you to seating upon entry.
4. Hand sanitizer will be placed at all entry ways and we ask that you please sanitize upon entry and exit of our churches.
5. Please refrain from socializing in church before or after Mass to prevent close gatherings. 6. Singing will be kept to a minimum. 7. Offertory baskets will be placed in a stationary location and not passed around. 8. At the Sign of Peace, please simply give a wave or other non-touch gesture to those around you. 9. All are encouraged to receive communion in the hand. 10. There will be no greeting after Masses so that all may return to their vehicles without gathering.
As part of our recommencement plan, we, like other parishes, will see a few adjustments to our weekend and daily Mass schedule temporarily. I want to emphasize temporarily for these modifications are only in place to allow our staff to properly abide by all regulations we are required to follow. We will maintain a clean and sanitized environment in all our church sites!

THIRTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME - JUNE 28, 2020 PAGE 5
2020 High School Graduates
The Rosary Society would like to recognize the recent high school graduates with a special gift to celebrate their accomplishment. You can pick this up in the back of each church site. Please sign your name on the list so we know that you have received the gift. Wherever your future takes you, may the love of God always show you the way!
50/50 RAFFLE TICKETS We are asking that you purchase these tickets for $10.00. Your tickets will be entered into the Summer 50/50 raffle drawings. Begin-ning immediately, every time the 50/50
reaches $500 we will pull a ticket for a new winner. By purchasing your 50/50 tickets earlier, you will be eligible for all of the drawings! The final drawing will be held on August 31st. Keep the part of the tickets that say “Keep This Coupon”. Please write your name and telephone number on the back of the other tickets. Return those tickets along with your $10.00 in a separate envelope via the collection basket or mail them to the Parish Center, 349 Morris Street, Clymer, PA 15728. Winners do not need to be present at the time of the drawing. Please stop to pick up your tickets at the back of our church-es. They are sorted alphabetically by site determined by your envelope number.
Join our on-line community by going to our personal on-line giving website:
churchresurrection.weshareonline.org.
We add giving opportunities, like bake sales and fish fry donations, specific to our parish. We also plan to add registration opportunities for Faith Formation this year. It’s safe and secure! LPI (WeShare) is PCI & DSS level 1 certified.
We are in need of a new co-sponsor for next year’s parish calendar
The cost of the sponsorship is $500. If there is any busi-ness owner or individual(s) interested in supporting our parish by underwriting the cost, please contact either
Leigh Shubra, or Fr. Jim as soon as possible.

With the many adjustments we have seen this year to our parish way of life, our Annual festival will not be able to be held in the manner we have grown to know and love. Although we are unable to have our usual festival activities, we have come up with alternate plans to keep the “heart” of our festival going given the restrictions we must follow. Our modified Parish Festival will take
place on Sunday, August 9th and is highlighted by our annual Basket Raffle under the tent. We hope this will allow for some Parish fun as a Parish family.
We need your help to make this year’s basket raffle a big success! If you would like to donate a basket or any items to create a basket, please call Janet Receski (724-465-7566). You may also drop off your baskets at the church office. This is always a favorite part of the festival, every-one enjoys seeing all the amazing baskets and getting a chance to win one.
Thank you in advance for your support of this very im-portant parish event!
