Welcome To Annunciation Parish!

Uniting The Catholic Community of Newington, Established June 29th, 2017

If you are new to our parish or if you have been away from the practice of the faith, we extend a warm welcome and hope you feel at home here. Our parish is nourished by your presence today. We invite you to introduce yourself to the priest or deacon after Mass so that we can greet you. We hope you will make Annunciation Parish YOUR parish.

All children are welcome to be baptized in the Catholic Church. It does not matter if the parents are single or married outside the Catholic Church. ALL CHILDREN no matter what, are welcome to the baptism of the Lord, as long as they will be raised Catholic. Annunciation Parish usually offers baptisms on the first and third Sundays. To get started, please call the parish office - Saint Mary (860-666-1591) or Holy Spirit (860-666-5671). We can’t wait to welcome your child into the life of Christ and our Church through Baptism.

Daly Notes

In addition to being your pastor, I also serve as the Minister of Priests for the

Archdiocese. At times, I have found myself overwhelmed by both positions. I am happy

to announce, Deacon Jim Tanguay has agreed to minister with us on a full time basis

as our Pastoral Associate. Deacon Jim will assist me in the day-to-day operations of

the parish. I know you will join me in welcoming Deacon Jim to this position, and I

look forward to working with him.

PRAYER FOR THE YOUTH

"Let the children come to me." (Mt. 19:14)

Loving Father, you look with compassion on all

your children, especially those who are

vulnerable.

May we work to create a world in which every

child has access to food, clean water, shelter,

education, health care, and all other basic

rights.

May we teach youth about their role in working

for peace, justice and the common good.

May we act together to ensure that the lives

and dignity of children everywhere can be re-

spected. Amen.

As children of one heavenly Father we pray,

"Our Father…"

MEN’S RETREAT

DO NOT BE AFRAID OF HOLINESS

Feb. 9 @ 9:00 a.m. - Feb. 10, 2019 @ 12:00 p.m.

This year's Men's Weekend Retreat will focus on Pope Francis' Apostolic Exhortation, Gaudete

Et Exsultate, Rejoice And Be Glad, On The Call To Holiness in Today's World in which he

encourages Christians, "Do not be afraid to set your sights higher, to allow yourself to be loved

and liberated by God. Do not be afraid to let yourself be guided by the Holy Spirit. Holiness

does not make you less human since it is an encounter between your weakness and the power

of God's grace. For in the words of León Bloy, when all is said and done, 'the only great tragedy

in life, is not to become a saint'. Participants will discern a deeper understanding of the "call to

the holiness" through the prayerful reading of the Word of God and sections of Gaudete et

Exsultate.

Thursdays, February 7 & 21

6:30-8:00 PM
