Creation is the action or process of bringing something into existence. The word ‘creation’ makes me think of change, new life, and possibility. Just as the entire process of caterpillar to butterfly is an example of creation, so is origami and how a few small folds, carefully chosen and artfully made, can bring a sheet of paper to life and decorative shapes and figures into existence.
CREATIONby gabriella norrman
Origami transform the paper to be fold, from a flat sheet to the infinite possibilities of what a piece of paper can become. The paper is just one little sheet, but can be folded and moulded into something significant unique.

Begin with a square piece of paper, with the coloured or patterned side down.
Make a centre crease
Make 1/4 creases Fold each corner inward, to the 1/4 crease line, as illustrated.
Fold the bottom edge upward 1/8 width
Fold the top edge downward 1/8 width
Fold along the dotted line to position the bottom-right corner to the top-centre edge as indicated by the circular marks in the illustration.
Fold the centre flap to the right and the bottom flap toward the top as indicated in the illustration (note: folding one flap will cause the other flap to fall into place).

Fold the top-left edge down to the bottom- centre edge, as indicated in the illustration. In a move that reflects the actions from step 8 above, fold the centre flap to the left and the top flap downward.
Your figure should now look like this illustration. The flap now just needs to be tucked behind the bottom lip (see the next illustration).
This shows the flap in place, tucked behind the lip.
Fold each of the triangular wings backward (away from the front of the model).
This is one finished component and it will form one side of your cube. Make six complete pieces to this point before beginning to assemble them.
Finished components slot together as illustrated. The pointed wing of one piece slides in behind, and is held in place by, the centre flap of another piece. No glue is necessary since the flaps hold each component in place next to its neighbour. Continue by adding a third, forth, fifth and sixth component and assemble them all.
