The mission of American Bible Society is to make the Bible available to every person in a language and format each can understand and afford so all people may experience its life-changing message.

They were spending the night in the fields, tending the flocks in their care. A night like many before, but a night like no other. This was the night that the shepherds would discover good news — the first ones to hear of the joy that would be for all people.

Only this kind of news would cause shepherds to run off and leave their flocks alone in the fields. Scripture tells us that they hurried off to find the child that the Lord had told them about. The Word made flesh. And they went back, singing praises to God for all

they had heard and seen.

It is our joy and privilege to introduce people everywhere to the good news of the Savior’s birth — the same news that changed the lives of those shepherds long ago, and still changes our world today.
