Medical practice opportunities for physicians, dentists and other medical professionals with Faith based medical organizations.TRANSCRIPT
The Christian Medical Association, the nation's largest faith-based association of doctors recently issued the following state-ment on the Supreme Court's decisions regarding marriage:
CMA CEO Dr. David Stevens noted, "The Supreme Court failed to recognize that 'We the people' should decide marriage poli-cy. Activist judges with an agenda have been foisting their views on the people--based not on the original Constitution or the duly reg-istered will of the people--but on what these judges imagine their progressive society should look like. Yet 38 states have affirmed that marriage is between a man and a woman. Regardless of this Court's decision, the debate on marriage will continue.
"Regardless of the shifting opinions of judges, 'We the people' recognize that cer-tain truths about marriage remain self-evi-dent. Simple biology and observation shows us that marriage is based upon the biological fact that reproduction depends on a man and a woman and upon the reality that children
Fifty-two percent of U.S. physician groups planning to implement Electronic Health Records would not consider replac-ing their current practice management sys-tem with an integrated practice manage-ment – EHR system according to the "5th Annual U.S. Ambulatory Electronic Health Record & Practice Management Study," released by HIMSS Analytics, a non-profit subsidiary of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society.
Sevocity EHR®, a division of Conceptual MindWorks, Inc. (CMI), focuses solely on Electronic Health Records and specializes in teaming with Practice Management ven-dors and billing services. Sevocity has enjoyed 53% growth over the last two years by partnering with these other vendors to enable practices to enjoy the benefits of EHR without the hassle and expense of replacing their practice management sys-tem.
"Providers recognize and appreciate you don't need to disrupt your practice and finances to implement EHR. Keeping your practice management system and adding EHR is much less painful and a faster path to Meaningful Use and embracing EHR technology, " stated Elaine Mendoza, President and CEO of Sevocity. "The key is to create and maintain excellent interfaces between systems and take a partnered approach to customer support", added Mendoza. Sevocity's strategic direction since its inception has been to focus on Electronic Health Records and integration with Practice Management, Labs, and other Health Information Sources.
About SevocitySevocity empowers physician practices and

The nation’s physicians are so concerned with the current healthcare environment that 59 percent say they would not recom-mend a medical career to a young person, according to new national survey from Jackson & Coker’s parent company, Jackson Healthcare.
The reasons driving physician dissatisfac-tion include decreased autonomy and reim-
bursements, too much time required away from patients due to administrative/regula-tory hassles, corporatization of medicine, fear of litigation and longer hours.
As physicians gauge the future of their careers, 36 percent reported a generally nega-tive outlook. Sixteen percent reported a gen-erally favorable outlook, while 48 percent remain cautious.
“Significant external pressures are prompt-ing physicians to rethink what they can do with their lives,” said Sandra Garrett, presi-dent of Jackson & Coker. “Our hope is that the physician voices represented in this sur-vey are heard and stir constructive dialogue on the state of the medical profession.”

The Future of Health Information Integration
With the deadline for the launch of healthcare insurance exchanges looming, more than half of the nation's physicians have little faith that the exchanges will launch on time and have little knowledge as to how the new policies will affect their practices, a new
LocumTenens.com physician survey finds.Major findings from the survey include
that less than 11 percent of physicians believe the exchanges will be ready by the Oct. 1, 2013 deadline, and most have no idea what to expect from an administrative perspective
when newly-insured patients start arriving for treatment in January 2014. A detailed summary of the survey findings can be found here.
"Everything in the news right now about the Affordable Care Act is about enrollment, and that is the logical first step," said Shane Jackson, president and chief operating officer of LocumTenens.com, a full-service physi-cian staffing agency and leading industry job board. "As major stakeholders and advocates in this effort, physicians should be educated about how these changes impact them, their patients and prospective patients. Our sur-vey shows that for the most part, they are in the dark."
Other survey responses revealed how unsure physicians are about the administra-tive and financial impacts of policies pur-chased from exchanges. More than 56 per-cent were not at all familiar with how the new policies would impact their businesses, 70 percent were not at all familiar with how the claims process would work and 67 per-cent were not at all familiar with patient coverage terms, such as grace periods, that might affect payment for services. Fifty five
percent of responding physicians expect their bad debt to increase under the Affordable Care Act.
Responding physicians felt that their patient volume would increase by 13.4 per-cent due to the new insurance access. Physicians also felt that more consumer edu-cation needed to be done, with 89 percent saying they did not think consumers had been adequately educated about how these new insurance policies will function.
"This is a patient population who, in many cases, hasn't had access to insurance and aren't familiar with how it works and what it covers," Jackson said. "Physicians' practices will play a major role in helping people who've never had access to insurance before understand how it works. There is a major lack of awareness both on the physi-cian side as well as the patient side that is troubling."

need a mother and a father in a stable mar-riage. Same-sex "marriage" undermines the need of children to understand gender and to benefit from the unique contributions of a man and of a woman to a child's develop-ment.
"We as physicians have long recognized that the most important function of mar-riage is to protect the needs of children--not simply to fulfill the emotional desires of adults.
"The best research shows that children consistently experience the most positive outcomes with a Mom and a Dad and too often experience negative outcomes in same-
sex households. When some research has attempted to convince us otherwise, rigorous examination of those studies has uncovered fatal research flaws, most likely the result of presuppositions and political agendas that undermined objectivity.
"Some activists, both in the courts and in public policy, appear intent on forcing peo-ple of faith to bow to a new and radical viewpoint that ignores our faith convictions and the testimony of millennia regarding marriage. Such pressure inevitably threatens religious freedom, as same-sex relationship advocates insist that conformity to their ide-ology trumps First Amendment speech, reli-
gious liberty and conscience freedoms."For millennia, governments have recog-
nized marriage because the institution uniquely benefits society. Parents teach chil-dren to be good citizens, and intact tradi-tional families remain one of the best predic-tors of positive social indicators and out-comes. When government recognizes mar-riage, it protects children by encouraging men and women to commit to each other and to take responsibility for the care and well-being their children. When a govern-ment disregards these benefits and attempts to redefine marriage as rooted in anything other than the union of one man and one
woman, anyone can assert any relationship as marriage, no matter how bizarre.
"We will continue to advocate for mar-riage and the children protected by mar-riage."
