The Mass is very conversational. When we are praying, we are always praying to someone; when responding, to one or more persons.

Throughout the Mass, there are prayers which are proper to the laity, prayers which are proper to the priest and prayers which are proper to both. While you may be familiar with the prayers proper to the laity, and those of the laity with the priest, you may be less familiar with those which the priest silently prays during the Mass. Some of these prayers include:

Before the proclamation of the Gospel, while bowing before the altar: “Cleanse my heart and my lips, almighty God, that I may worthily proclaim your holy Gospel.”

Matter of Balance will begin Monday, August 7th. at 9:30 a.m. till 11:30 a.m. Free classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Clarissa Senior Center until August 30th. This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls. You are welcome to repeat this class if you’ve come before. St. Mary’s Mission Meeting August 16 at 9 a.m. We are now collecting school supplies, which will be shared with Christ the King School or Browerville, Bertha and Browerville public schools. Thank you.

Religious Education Volunteer Teachers are needed Please consider helping our young people learn about and strengthen their catholic faith. Thank you. Parent letters regarding our religious ed. program for this year will be mailed within the next few weeks.

VBS will be this Monday, August 7-Friday, August 11 and will run from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Friday, we will have Mass at 11 a.m., followed by a potluck lunch for the families of all of our participants. We will have a short program after Mass on Sunday, Aug 13, to kick-off our parish festival. Parish Festival - If you haven’t picked up your raffle tickets, please do so as soon as possible. They are located in the entry of the church. Please return your used and unused tickets by Sunday, August 6th. They can be dropped in the collection basket or at the parish office.

Please continue to bring in your Silent Auction items,

marked with the minimum bid. The Country Store also need items, so keep that in mind. Thank you!

There will be no Christian Mothers meeting in August.

Religious Education—CCD Volunteers Needed We have a few teachers that have been giving their time for several years, and feel that they could use a break. This means starting in September, we have an urgent and immediate need for others to step up and help share the faith with our youth, particularly for our elementary school age students. If you think you might be being called, please contact Elizabeth Schwartz.

Needed: Someone who is interested in nicely arranging the First Communion pictures in the church basement. More recent photos will be given. Contact the parish office if you are willing to help out. Thank you.

MASS AND ANOINTING IN HONOR OF ST. PEREGRINE, PATRON OF THOSE

AFFECTED BY CANCER All are invited to Mass and the Anointing of the Sick service on Wednesday, August 23, at 5:30 p.m. at St. Anthony Church, 2405 1st St N, St. Cloud. All are welcome, especially those affected by cancer or other illnesses and chronic conditions.
