www.postersession.com Birth John Lewis was born to Eddie and Willie Mae Lewis on February 21, 1940 in Troy, Alabama. Family John Lewis had six siblings (Adolph, Grant, John-Miles, Edward, William, and Ethel Lewis). John’s father was a sharecropper, his mother was a Stay-at- Home mom and both were strongly rooted into religion. Education John Lewis began his education as the first to graduate high school in his family. After his high school education he attended the American Baptist Theological Seminary to fulfill his dream of becoming a pastor. Lewis also attended Fisk University, but, unfortunately dropped out because of the Civil Rights Movement. Eventually, Lewis did return to Fisk University and received his B.A. in Religion and Philosophy.
