Budget• A special episode of Sesame Street

will air entitled “Growing Hope Against Hunger.” New character, Lily, will address hunger issues with cast members, visit a community garden and get food from and volunteer at a food pantry.

• Wal-Mart gave a $1.5 million grant to provide screenings of the Sesame Street episode and distribute 35,000 Food for Thought resource kits.

• “Food for Thought: Eating Well on a Budget is a bilingual, multimedia program designed to help support families who have children between the ages of 2 and 8 and are coping with uncertain or limited access to affordable and nutritious food. “
