Chicken Pot Pie
Day 1 Person 1
Add 1 ½ c flour, ½ salt ,1/2 c butter and ¼ c shortening into a bowl
Using pastry blender- cut in the butter
Day 1 Person 1
Sprinkle 3-4 T of ice water over the flour and fat mixture
Stir with a fork- pastry will be lumpy
Roll mixture into a ball and wrap tightly with plastic wrap
Clean up kitchen
Day 1 Person 2
Rinse chicekn
Mince ½ clove of garlic
Measure ¼ tsp thyme
Season chicken with salt and pepper, thyme garlic
Day 1 person 2
Place 1 T of oil in skillet and heat on medium high
Chop 1 T of onion
Put onion in the oil
Place seasoned chicken in pan and sautee until browned and fork tender
Put cooked chicken on a plate, wrap label and clean the kitchen
Day 2 Person 1
Measure 2/3 c vegetable sand place in a bowl
Measure ½ c cream of chicken soup and place in a bowl
Add chopped up chicken to the bowl
Day 2 Person 2
Take pastry out of the refrigerator- cut into 4 pieces
Chop chicken into bite sized pieces
Place chicken in bowl
Both people
Cut pastry into 4 pieces
Roll out dough in between pieces of parchmentt paper
Place one piece in bottom of labeled pan
Add vegetable/chicken mixture
Place second piece of pastry on top of veggies and chicken
Crimp crust as shown in class
Wrap and label pot pie
