Four decades have seemed to zip on by, yet high school seems like light years away!
I have managed to live here in Lewiston for 57 years, briefly moving across the river to Washington twice in the 'rental' years. The Valley has it's deficits, but the panoramic views of the rivers and mountains (hills?) still inspire me daily. My husband, Stan, and I have been married for 15 years and have raised 4 kids between us, all of whom live in Lewiston. My son, Mason, is developmentally disabled and still lives with us and is involved in Special Olympics. I spend every minute I can in our yard gardening and landscaping, refinishing/repurposing furniture, home decorating, biking on the levee, and going to concerts, mostly classic rock (hey....we did grow up with the best music!) We try to catch a concert whenever we can because you never know if a band will be on their last tour. We are excited to see Tom Petty in the Gorge in August.
It will be fun catching up and sharing stories from the good 'ol days!

Hmm…what is my “current story”???
Pretty much the same as the last one!
Same job, same house. I have added two nephews along the way…a four year old
and a 1 ½ year old. They are fun, but too far away to see as often as I would like.
Haven’t been able to travel overseas as much as I
have in the past (Italy, New Zealand, Ireland,
Scotland, Cook Islands).
Waiting for that lucky lottery ticket is not panning out.
I have taken up mountain biking. We have a group of
about 10 regulars that try to punish ourselves on a
weekly basis and for the past two years have done
out of state trips to ride other trails. The recovery time
on some of these adventures takes a little longer than
it used to, but at least we’re still out there giving it a
go. Hopefully at the 50th reunion I can make the
same claim!

Hi Classmates,
Can you believe 40 years have passed! I’m looking forward to reconnecting with you
again this year. So here’s my story: I live in McCall, Idaho and teach World History,
Govt. and Weight Training at the local High School. I also coach both Cross-Country
and Track & Field. My wife of 25 years, Darcy, is an on-line professor at Boise State in
the Nursing Dept. and is able to work through her lap top at home and rarely needs to
drive down to the big city. We have 3 children – Blaine Moriarty age 43, Chele
Fredrickson age 41, and Blake Anderson age 23 ( graduated this year from University
of Idaho)- and 4 wonderful grand boys.
We enjoy traveling as much as our teaching budgets allow and we take advantage of
the great outdoor opportunities that McCall has to offer – skiing, backpacking, biking
and live music. Can’t wait to see everyone soon. Best regards!

Hello classmates. Last night I was talking to my youngest son, a
high school sophomore. I was doing most of the talking. He was
communicating in monosyllables and grunts. I was reminding him of
a number of things that were on his plate and needed his attention.
I explained that even at his young age he had the power to do things
that would either positively or negatively impact him for the rest of
his life. Calculated blank stare. I remember being on the receiving
end of a similar lecture 40+ years ago and I am sure I reacted the
same way. Nothing changes.
Since last we met I closed my law practice and accepted a job with
the state of Idaho. It’s a good gig, and is somewhat less stressful
than my practice was. My term is up in 2015, so I may yet have to
return to private practice to finish my career. Save your grudges!
Nancy continues to work as a staff attorney for Idaho’s senior federal
district judge, a really nice man who has been on the bench for over 50 years.
Both my sons have been active in Scouting. I just finished a two year commitment as Scoutmaster for their troop, and
although it robbed me of time on the bike, it did get me out of a lot of backpacking trips I otherwise wouldn’t have taken.
Sam and Jim have become good outdoorsmen and we still enjoy annual
outings to the Wallowas. When they were little, I had to drive them up
the trail, as though with a whip. A couple of years ago though,
something switched on, and now I don’t see them until we get to our
destination, where they have been cooling their heels for some time in
advance of my arrival. Not even loading their packs with their father’s
and uncle’s beer slows them down!
Sam is in Germany on a Rotary exchange. He will attend the University
of Oklahoma next fall. He’s go a great summer job as a backcountry
ranger at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico, a place I went as a
youth and remember very fondly. Jim is bike racing on the local youth
squad, and is sleek, fast and a much better rider than I ever was.
Retirement no longer seems over the horizon, though I expect to work
as long as I am still enjoying it. Nancy and I have just started planning
the downsize house we will build on a lot we own on the Boise River.
No work yet on the damage this project will do to our marriage.
I hope to keep active in the coming years, notwithstanding entropy’s
inexorable tug. I hope all of you will take the same tack. My word, not
even sixty yet!

My step-son, Brando0n, is an attorney

The Fox household has enjoyed many changes through the passing years!
Here are a few highlights:
Deb stops delivering babies in 1991 after seven, 5 girls and 2 boys. Husband John stops
delivering babies in 2000, limiting practice to gynecology. Family life at the Foxes Den
improves dramatically with predictable schedule.
Deb and John live in Pasco, Washington for 23 years; work hard, play hard; hit midlife
crisis, and move to Boise, Idaho in 2008.
Deb decides regular lunch dates with nearby children, parents and siblings is a highly
desirable benefit from living in Boise.
Deb spends spare time biking, doing yard work, and trying to solve everyone's problems.
John spends spare time white water kayaking and avoiding problems.
Deb likes to stay home. John likes to travel. On special occasions when traveling together
(not counting visits to children's families), the two have
traveled to Canada, England, France, Switzerland,
Malaysia, and New Zealand.
The Foxes continue to build their 38-year marriage on a
commitment to the teachings of the LDS (Mormon) faith.
The Foxes currently have 10 grandchildren with 2 more
on the way. Their children (ages 37 to 23) live in Boise,
John Day (Oregon), Ogden (Utah), and Fort Worth
(Texas).
Deb's quote for the day: Don't judge, don't compare, and
don’t hesitate to forgive.
Debby is happy to be coming to this 40th reunion. She is
glad that yearbook senior pictures don't seal one's fate.

Steve and I moved to Kenai, Alaska in 1985 and raised 3 of our children there,
Danielle, Shane and Niki. As they graduated and ventured out on their own they all
ended up moving to what we called the Lower 48. Three of the families are in the
Boise, Idaho area and 1 family is in Grand Junction, Colorado. Last year, 2013, we
had a new home built in Kuna, Idaho and we moved to the new house in March 2013.
We still have a home in Kenai, Alaska which will go up for sale in August 2014. Steve
flies back and forth to Alaska every 2 weeks to work on the platform. I have taken a
part-time job in Nampa, Idaho as a Training Coordinator. We are very happy that we
made the move and can now enjoy all the kids and grand kids. We can take one of
the Harley’s out and go anywhere we choose now without too much worry about the
weather. We are looking forward to taking the 5th wheel, Toy Hauler and Harley on a
road trip this summer. I forgot how much fun it is to have four seasons and not just
summer and winter in Alaska or what we called it winter and construction/tourist
season.
Last year my husband decided we would take a road trip since I
had not really been very many places so we visited, Mt.
Rushmore, Mall of America in Minnesota and a lot of places
along the way. We like to take tropical vacations somewhere
each year so we have been to the Hawaiian Islands, Cancun,
Aruba, Rivera Maya and a lot more to see...

Life has brought many blessings, which I count
each day. I also had the most heartbreaking
event of my life - losing my brother (and only
sibling), Jim, two years ago from a massive
heart attack.
I retired in July 2013 as Technical
Documentation Manager from Key Technology,

husband (also retired) and I enjoy camping, boating, fishing and target shooting.
I moved to Lewiston, ID in November 1972 during
my junior year and graduated in January 1974. I
married, and divorced, a former classmate whose
name shall remain unpublished. While I did not
meet many of my classmates, I fondly remember
those that I did have the opportunity to get to
know.

Hi everyone,
I am still living in Spokane, WA, which is definitely my home. I am retired from being an Chief
Insurance Underwriter after 26 years of service. I have traveled to Australia, Africa, Europe, both the
eastern and western sides of the Caribbean, the Cayman Islands, Jamaica mon, all over much of
Mexico.
I currently have only my one, amazing, daughter, Jennifer Marie McCall. She was married in
2005 and her husband, Ken, is a Major in the Air Force. They were stationed overseas for 5 years and
I have to say that was one of the hardest things I have had to deal with. The first year and a half were
spent in Bahrain. This is an island off the coast of Saudi Arabia in the Persian Gulf. Not exactly where
you would wish your only child to be in 2007 – 2008. Then they were transferred to Aviano Air Force
Base in northern Italy where they spent another three and a half years.
My one and only grandchild was born in Italy on January 26th, 2011.
She turned three on January of this year and is the delight of my life. My
daughter earned her degree in Biology from Eastern Washington University
and will always be the one I am so very proud of, but Ayla AnnMarie McCall
is right there with her. They are now stationed in Las Vegas at Nellis Air
Force base and I am so glad to have them on U.S. soil. Also a lot of fun to
visit.
As for me I have had a few problems from a major MVA in 2000.
Numerous surgeries, including 3 major hip surgeries/replacements within 8
and a half years with a lot of complications. ………..continued………..

continued………..I was told I would never be able to be the athletic person I used to be. Could not jog,
ride mountain bike races, ski either water or snow, could not enter my beloved biathlons, basically could
do nothing. My last hip replacement surgery took place on April 30, 2012. I then decided, because I
am a stubborn son of a gun, that to hell (can I say Hell?) with what they had told me, I needed
something I could enjoy, just one thing and I was willing to take the risk. So the end of June 2012 I
purchased a beautiful Black Tobiano Tennessee Walker with World Grand Champion bloodlines from
down south. Need I add that he was very expensive and he was transported to me via horse transport
and arrived on 7/12/12. I had advanced from a wheelchair, to walker to crutches by the time he arrived.
I was not able to ride him until late September of that year but I did have a trainer working with him. His
registered name is Pusher’s Rought Iron AKA Crusader or best known as Cruz baby. We went on to
the show season of 2013 and we entered in 17 events. Cruz baby received 17 ribbons. One for every
event we entered! So many 1st and 2nd’s with a few 3rd’s. I have never shown a horse before, this
was amazing. I have had horses starting since I was 8 years old, but this was so very new to me.
Needless to say, I have found my place back in life. I could not be more blessed. I have my
daughter, Jen, my granddaughter, Ayla, 2 wonderful loving Golden Retriever’s, Bear and Max, (I just
lost my main little Golden man, Jakey, at 13 yrs old at the end of April) an amazingly beautiful and
loving horse, Crusader and a cockatiel, Lovey, that hates me.
Life does go on. Who in high school could predict where we would be now, 40 years later. Not
me.
I have included some pictures of my beautiful daughter and her husband, my beautiful
granddaughter, my horse and all my animal family. Sorry Lovey the Cockatiel did not make the
attachment, just as well as he would have probably hissed at me for the invasion into his “private life?”
who knows?

Wow—it seems like such a long time since High
School! Even finding the box with my high school
things in it took a while, but it was fun to look
through things and reminisce. It will be fun to see
people this summer.
After graduation, Becky Mitchell, Angie Condrey,
Amy Jordan and I drove to West Yellowstone, MT
to get jobs as waitresses and hotel maids for the
summer. We stayed in a small cabin together.
What an adventure! It was my first time away from
home for a full summer, and I still smile when I
think of it.
That Fall, I started on a Music degree at the
University of Idaho (thinking I would be a concert
pianist), but later switched to Music Education
(thinking instead I would teach at a grade school
and have a band and choir program). A year later
a former flute player took me to an open house at the college of Engineering, and when I walked in, it was like being at
Disneyland, with flashing lights and things moving, and I was hooked. So I switched to Engineering, little realizing that
all the flashing lights and fun parts come AFTER all the heavy book learning!. I stuck it out, and after graduation took a
job with HP in Corvallis, Oregon. I’m still there (35 years and counting).
One of the most fun things I did in college was being part of a group that drove to South America one summer. A college
dorm-mate was from Chile, and she knew another Chilean couple in Nampa who were planning a trip back home, and
when all was arranged there were 8 of us in a 12 passenger van with “Famous Potatoes” license plates, driving through
Mexico and Central America. Part of the Pan-American highway between
Panama and Columbia was not finished yet, so in Panama they shipped the van
to Ecuador, and we flew to Columbia and took a bus down to meet the van. Then
we continued on, visiting Machu Picchu on the way, all the way down to Chile. It
took us 6 weeks, and was the trip of a lifetime. At the time, I felt very safe (after
all, the couple in charge were in their 40s, which seemed really old at the time)!
But now, I shudder to think how I would have felt if one of my kids had taken off on
a trip like that!
I married right out of college. Dale and I were together 24 years, and had three
lovely daughters (now 22, 25 and 27). They are all very independent, and have
grown into very special young women. I have been with my friend Gregg about
ten years now. In my free time, I do a lot of things with family and with my church,
and have especially enjoyed being a substitute organist the past several years. I
also enjoy motorcycle riding with Gregg in the summers.
I think that’s about it for now. I am really looking forward to the Reunion this
summer!

It is hard to grasp that I
graduated from Lewiston High School
40 years ago. It seems like I have
lived many life times during those
forty years. I started working part-
time for the US Army Corps of

Construction Office. In January 1974,
I began working full time at Lower
Granite Dam in the Construction
Office. I attended school for one hour
in the morning then drove to Lower Granite Dam for the rest of the day. This
employment for the Corps of Engineers began a 34 year career for me. I worked at
Lower Granite Dam, Little Goose Dam, Dworshak Dam,
and the Walla Walla District Headquarters Office in
Walla Walla, WA. I held various positions with the
Corps including Student Aid, Clerk, Administrative
Officer, and Program Analyst. I retired in December
2007.
In January 2006, I became the Mayor for the City
of Peck and continue to serve in that role today. It has
been exciting as well as very frustrating to lead the
small community but it is fulfilling to know that I am
making a difference for the future citizens. I have had
to learn about water systems, septic systems,

Audrey and I have been married for 37 years. Our daughter, Daisy is now 30 years old, married and

Audrey is a Special Education Teacher at the middle school and I am still working at the mill, which
has been sold twice in the last 6 years, so the transition to new management has been interesting. I
am still a Millwide Coordinator responsible for the entire mill, which become a pressure cooker at
times. So we do a lot of traveling to get away and relax. Usually we
spend a week in Mexico. We have been to most of the popular
destinations but enjoy Istapa the most, more laid back and very few
tourists. We spend a week at the beach in Seaside and a week in
Vegas during the summer. We have also got hooked on cruising
and try to visit different destinations each time we cruise—(it is
amazing how bad the cell phone coverage is when we are on

I graduated from Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1977 and went to work at St. Joseph’s in the Intensive Care Unit. I worked there for 9 years managing the Critical Care and Telemetry units. I went back to school at LCSC and graduated with a business degree. I met my husband Bill while he was attending the University of Idaho. When he graduated as a mechanical engineer, we moved to the Seattle area. He went to work for Boeing as a retrofit engineer, and I went to work at General Hospital Medical Center in Everett as the manager of the Critical Care Unit. After our children were in school, I accepted a position at Valley General Hospital. I worked there for almost 16 years ending as the Associate Administrator/Chief Nurse Executive. Better late than never, I finished my Masters of Science in Nursing in 2012, and went to work for the Everett Clinic, a multispecialty clinic of over 400 providers. I’m managing an innovative program where nurses manage a panel of 150 medically complex patients. Our goal is to teach the patient to better self-manage his/her chronic illnesses.
Bill has retired from Boeing and loves it. Our son
Chandler has a degree in Accounting and is now
pursuing a nursing degree with the intent to be a nurse
practitioner. Our daughter Whitney graduated from the
University of Washington, spent some time traveling
and doing disaster relief for Hurricane Sandy. She’s
now working toward vet school.

Wow! Forty years, where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday we were all young, energetic and just waiting for life to happen. Well it certainly has happened! About three years ago my children thought I should join the Facebook world. I resisted, but one day I looked through my e-mail and found that my daughter Melissa had indeed signed me up and done my profile. Reluctantly I began using it and now I am so glad she did it for me. It has been so awesome to reconnect with so many friends from grade school through high school. It is so much fun to see what everyone has done with their lives and where they are now. It will be a blast to actually get to see and hug the people I have been following and chatting with and who were such support to me when I needed it. So life to this point has been an adventure with family, jobs and some interesting travel.
Jon and I continue to live and work in Coeur d’Alene. We have been here for 29 years with the last 26 being in the same house. We live in a 100+ year old house that we have renovated from top to bottom trying to keep as much of the historic character as possible. Continued…

Continued… The current project is building a greenhouse in our backyard using 1925 windows that we removed from the school I work at before they demolished to make way for a new building. I love to garden and am so excited to be able to start all of my veggies and flowers early in the spring!
Jon is a Landscape Architect and I continue to teach. For several years he was heavily involved with his professional organization American Society of Landscape Architects. He was the National President which allowed for a lot of travel that I sometimes got be a part of. Our most exciting trip was to Tokyo which ended with the devastating earthquake. We sat through several minutes of shaking on the fifth floor of a restaurant watching skyscrapers swaying like tree branches. Luckily we were no where near the tsunami!
I teach at Winton Elementary which has been my second home since 1994. I taught 3rd grade for ten years, Advanced Learning for five years and will be in my fifth year teaching both P.E. and Music this fall. I am not always a fan of the politics of public education, but I truly love working with children. Winton is a poverty school and some days can be very challenging, but my heart and soul are entrenched in helping each child I have the privilege of working with. Our original school was built in 1925 and this spring they demolished it and will be building a new school in the same place. We will be displaced for a year and then move back in to a brand new safe and healthy building in 2015, where I will finish out my career. ...continued

Continued... Our children are the absolute joy of my life. Melissa is in her thirteenth year of
teaching with the last nine being in Moscow. Abby is a Nanny and after adventures on the East coast is now in Coeur d’Alene working for two different families filling a very important need for parents. Will moved to Seattle in February and is working for Simply Measured a company that helps other companies with data analysis of their social media sites. All three kids are single and I just “adopt” grandkids through Abby’s work. We do have three grand doggies with which we have much fun.
Our lives have been blessed in so many ways and we try to enjoy each day to the fullest. We were fortunate to find a place just off the St. Joe River several years ago where we go to relax and rejuvenate. It was my sanctuary in 2012 when I was initiated into the “Big C” club. Like so many of our classmates I was diagnosed with cancer and went through chemo and radiation treatments. I am not quite two years out of treatment and feeling great. I was blessed to have great doctors here and came through the adventure with little trouble. I attribute the positive nature of my journey to the support of my family, my church family, and all of my friends--many from my years in Lewiston thanks to Facebook! All the experiences I’ve had over the last forty years, but especially the last ten, have shown me the importance of living each day, appreciating everything and everyone in my life, and totally enjoying and finding good in every moment! Can’t wait to see everyone soon!!

40 years down the road and we’re into the home stretch. Many of us have raised our children and seen them through school, into marriage and on to their adult lives. Now my focus is onward to retirement. When I was last able to spend my time doing just as I wanted was probably when I was in High School. I’ll do my best to make up for lost time.
Since the last reunion Cristi (James, LHS ‘75) and I bought another older home and went through another remodel but I think this time we have a place we can stay in until they have to pack us off to assisted living. Our sons, Michael (LHS 2000) and James (LHS 2007) are both working in the East now. Michael and his wife Lindsay in Washington DC and James in Dover, Delaware. We miss having them nearby but all were able to find jobs that will get them off to a great start on their careers. No grandchildren for us yet but we remain hopeful.
I look forward to seeing everyone and hearing about the things that have gone on in their lives since we met last.

Kim and I are living in beautiful West Linn, Oregon. A small town with much to offer!
West Linn offers the Willamette River and 36 parks with movies and music in the park
all summer long. We are living in a condo on a hill with Mt Hood view and thoroughly
enjoy our home.
Kim and I have two girls; Elissa and Jessica. Elissa is 33 and married to Derrick
Preston and they have a new child, (their first) Connor 8 months. He is a cute and
adorable and fun. Derrick and Elissa own 17 acres in Canby, Oregon just 15 minutes
from us. With all that property there is plenty to do and it keeps Derrick busy. He
works for Clackamas County at the Tualatin Valley Fire Department as an all wheel
mechanic. Elissa works as the HR Manager for city of West Linn. Both enjoy the jobs
and their home and our family activities.
Jessica our youngest has two children; Gavin 7 and Ella 3. Both are cute and fun to
be around. We enjoy having them over at our
condo pool during the summer months. Jessica
runs a day care out of her horn (in Gladstone,
Oregon just 10 minutes away). She partners with
her roommate to take care of the children during
the week.
We are also very involved in our church with
worship and prayer ministries which we love to do.
Kim and I love the coast and spend time with
friends and walks on the beach as well as social
occasions with them.

Since I last updated everyone, Mike and I have moved a couple of times: from Coeur
d'Alene, to Headquarters, ID, and now to Clarkston. We actually maintain homes in
both places. HQ is our getaway in the back country.
My husband has retired from Potlatch/Clearwater Paper and I have ceased teaching.
We now have time to travel and play to our hearts’ content. I also volunteer at CHS
with a friend who teaches Culinary Arts. I love working with the high school kids. My
teaching career was with intermediate age kids which I also loved.
Our two daughters and their families live in the Seattle area and we (especially me)
spend quite a bit of time over there with them and our precious 4 year old
granddaughter.
Our biggest adventure since retiring was a motorcycle trip to the east coast of Maine
last summer with another couple. I have to confess that we two women flew to
Buffalo, NY and joined the men then we spent over
two weeks touring around New England, before
flying back home from Bangor, ME. The guys were
gone 32 days and drove their Harleys through 24
different states—8,200 miles! Check that off the
bucket list!
Now that I’m back in the valley, I’m hoping to see
lots of people from the old days. After this reunion
we might even recognize each other! :)

In thinking about my life story since the last class reunion I attended,
our 20th, so many things have happened and changed. My first thoughts turn
to my forever sweetheart, as we have enjoyed 36 years of an amazing
marriage. We are best friends who have experienced great joys and great sorrows together.
Our great joys have included, vacations every year to our favorite place, Florida. We love
renting a house with a pool and all the amenities, close to the beaches and attractions that Florida
has to offer. Who knows, we may end up there in our retirement years, which are coming up
quickly!
Our 3 beautiful grandchildren are definitely at the top of the list of joys. Max is 9, Kena is 6,
and Miyah is 2. They love to swim in grandma’s swim spa and we always have a project to work on
or a fun place to visit.
Another joy for me is to have my mother living back in Utah, close by and enjoying her later
years with family near by.
My husband and I enjoy his very expensive hobby. He built a Velocity airplane many years
ago and we have enjoyed some flying trips on and off through the years as the plane is often
undergoing improvements, which take time. But when they are finished, we are taking to the skies,
mostly around Utah and some occasional trips further.
My greatest sorrow occurred four years ago, when my only
son, Jon passed away from Melanoma. He was diagnosed in October
and after giving a valiant fight for 5 months, the cancer had spread so
much that he needed to leave this earth life. As painful and hard as
that was to see him go, I know I will see him again, that he is free of
pain, doing great works on the Other Side. He left me a sweet
daughter- in-law and 2 of the most beautiful and precious
grandchildren mentioned above.
Another challenge/sorrow came just a couple of months ago,
when my sweet mother was diagnosed with Ahlziemers. She is in the
mild stages and so we cherish every moment with her now and
continue to hold her health in our prayers.

I find great joy in the successes of my beautiful daughter, Melody. She is living in Spokane
with her husband Will, so I do not see her a lot, and I miss her. I am grateful this reunion takes me
up that way to squeeze in a visit with her.
Another joy in my life has been to be a teacher in a job that allows me to share the fun of
teaching and learning with technology. For the past 15 years I have been able to teach teachers
how to use computers and iPads in their classrooms. Another year, and I will be thinking about
retirement. Yay!
I continue to find joy in my faith, my family, my friends, my beautiful home, my hobbies, my
work and all the other opportunities to love and serve that come my way!

I’m going into my 14th year of barbering in Spokane.
My shop called “Heads Up Barbershop”…...I don’t
consider it a job but rather I get to go to work! I have
wonderful customers, each with their own history of
amazing stories. The last three years Mitch has rent-
ed a chair from me, he brings joy and humor….makes
it even more fun!
My daughter Jami married a great guy last year. They
live in Bend, Oregon with his 3 boys and my 4 year old
grandson Zachary. Their lives are very busy and I try
to visit as often as possible.
My Son Mickey lives in Orland, FL with my 12 year old
Granddaughter, Audrey. Unfortunately I don’t get visit
them nearly as often as I would like. I average once a year. Needless to say we
have a great time!
As for my personal life, I have been dating a wonderful man for the last 3 years.
We enjoy traveling in the motorhome...cruise...good times enjoying our families
and 2 dogs of course…...

LHS: Where do you call home? SE: Bellevue, WA and in my spare time Hamilton, MT
LHS: It has been 40 years since high school. Anything to say? SE: Hey my life has been one big adventure. I have been able to move around the west, live a few places, try a few different careers and do some traveling.
LHS: Any life changing moments? SE: I would have to say that things really changed when I was able to teach my giant poodle-retriever dog to say Walla Walla when I asked her where the best wine was made. Truly it was unforgettable.
LHS: Any nostalgic thoughts about Lewiston? SE: Well the loss of the Big “V” always makes me sad. It was like the biggest Tru-Valu store ever. Klings Carmel corn on main. And who can forget the Chicken Broaster and Rosie’s Drive in.
LHS: So many folks have a Mission Statement. What is yours? SE: Well I get up every day and try to be the most interested and interesting person I know. As long as you can laugh at yourself then everybody wins.
LHS: Any sage advise you would like to share? SE: Tip well where needed. Do not worry about over using the words Thank you. Always volunteer to speak at a friends funeral. Do not buy cheap peanut butter.

The last 10 years??? I’d say it’s been pretty
amazing!!! My family shrunk down to where we
were ‘empty nesters’… to gaining a son-in-
law...to gaining a grandson and twin
grandaughters!!! Whoever said that ‘life’ will slow down and relax once the kids are out of the house
is CRAZY!!! I swear our lives have just revved up more.
Jim and I have been married for 33 years and are still both teaching in the public school system.
Jim is teaching 7th grade PE/Health, while I’m teaching 1st/2nd grades. Jim is about 2 years away
from retiring. I could have retired a year ago but have no plans to do so! I still love what I do, and
am currently teaching a 4 day work week. Life couldn't be better! We are both very active with the
Idaho Teacher’s Union and find ourselves traveling a lot throughout the year.
Our daughter Krys (31 years old) has been married 6 years. Her
husband Aaron enlisted in the army just after they got married.
They have a 3 year old son, Jackson and two twin girls, Aryla and
Olivia who are just now 10 months old. They are currently living in
North Carolina, but being in special ops, Aaron can be anywhere in
the world at a moment’s notice.
Our son, JT, is 26 years old and lives in Meridian, Idaho. He is the
marketing manager for all the Papa John’s stores in the Treasure
Valley He loves his job and his single life for the time being.
I wouldn’t change my life, and will never look back!!! I can’t wait to
see what roads lead us to and where we’ll go. Next ten years?
Bring it on!!!

years ago, I qualified for early
retirement, so I didn’t stay one day extra. I retired and am so glad I did! I thought that
I would go back as a volunteer, but I haven’t spent one day there yet. I am now
spending most of my time giving home health care to my husband, Steve, who has
long-term medical needs. Until last year, I worked during the summers as an
accounting clerk, processing payroll for the summer
firefighters.
I live in Meridian, with my husband and two great kids.
Katie completed cosmetology school, and Gabe did auto
technology. They’re now making their way to living on
their own. I was able to get away recently for a trip to
Hawaii, and that was a nice change of pace. I like to find
creative things to do, and have found time to watercolor
paint. I get back to Lewiston now and then, but never
seem to have time to visit old friends. Thank goodness

After living out of the valley for seventeen years, I moved back to Lewiston in 1991. I married Tom Roberts
that year and we blended our families. We each had two children and we spent the next fourteen years
getting them thru school and having them all graduate from college. Three from Lewis-Clark State and one
from U of I. Our son B.J. is a middle school teacher with two children, a boy and girl, our daughter Lindsey is
married to a Green Beret and they also have a son and daughter. Our son Tyler is married with no children
and his sister Jamie is married with a little girl. All of our kids were very much into the rodeo world and al
competed in high school and college rodeo.
Tom was away in California training race horses the early part of our marriage, so I didn’t work outside the
home. My job was wrangling horses for the kids, hauling them around the
country to rodeos and doing books for our business.
I never lost my desire to ride and compete, so I was lucky enough to be able
to spend time riding barrel horses and going to as many rodeos as I could get
to! My greatest thrill was competing in the short go at the Pendleton Roundup
and winning a pile of money!
We moved to Hermiston, Oregon five years ago and I finally decided to get a
job! I went to work for the school district and now work with mentally and
physically handicapped children. I love the people I work with and the
children I have the opportunity to help out every day. I still ride every day.
Tom has been retired for about 5 years and we spend a lot of time with our
grandkids. They are the light and delight of our lives...

I am on my third career – first: engineering
draftsman; second: CPA in public and private
industry ; and now, Associate Professor for the
Business Division at Lewis-Clark State College. I
have been teaching for five years and love my
work – I can see myself doing it for many years to
come. Especially because the schedule is so
awesome - working 7-1/2 months a year is perfect.
I am basically a lazy person so retirement isn’t my
goal – I know that it would involve too much laying
around, reading, sleeping, and eating - and
probably not accomplishing a whole lot. So, my
plan is to travel as much as possible during the summertime, and enjoy teaching for as long as I
can!
The most exciting things that have happened in the past couple of years: Dale and I have been
blessed with a grandson, Henry (yep – he’s the cutest!) and my children and their spouses have
moved from Alaska back to the Pacific Northwest. I also spent
a month in Turkey last year – we rented an apartment in
Istanbul and spent the month of June exploring the city and
other amazing areas in Turkey. Next summer we are planning
to rent an apartment in Prague, Czech Republic, and explore
that city along with a few side trips to Germany, Austria, and
Poland. Seeing the world has become my passion and I hope
to spend the summers experiencing many different places.
But – even with that, the very best place to be is home. I love
living in the LC valley, spending time with my mama and papa,
being goofy with my sisters, and hanging out with friends and
family. I am hoping there is a great turn-out for this reunion – it
will be fun to see everyone!
Okay – gotta go – I have 29 days to lose 20 pounds

Life is good...My husband and I are attempting to relax and enjoy semi-retirement, with the relaxing
part being a challenge for our busy personalities. I retired from Windermere real estate a few years
ago and my husband from the military in 2007. We have enjoyed volunteering and/or doing
seasonal work at Dworshak State Park for seven summers, with the exception of 2013. That
summer we had a wonderful experience traveling to Alaska and Canada for 2 1/2 months with our
camper. In addition, we have volunteered at Sunset Bay and Shore Acres State Parks in
Charleston, Oregon for the winter months to assist fellow campers and reap the coastal benefits of
clamming, crabbing, blackberry picking and mushroom hunting. Not to mention we have made
many new friends with other camp hosts and park rangers.
We continue to manage our rental properties while at home and from afar, and assist our two
children in their endeavors. Our oldest and artistic child, Anne, is working on completing a Media
Arts degree with the University of Montana. She took a short time out from college in 2012 to go to
Ethiopia to work on their version of American Idol, and then did some travel hopping to Rome and
England on the return home. We are very proud of her adventuresome spirit and look forward to her
college graduation in 2015. Our son, Kyle, is a high functioning autistic person also known as
Aspberger’s Syndrome. We enjoy his loving personality and
support his achievements as he works through the difficult
challenges of his condition and gaining independence in a world
that at times seems very foreign to him.
As for relaxation, I am knitting– finally getting past making simple
washcloths, reading books and attending book discussions at
the library, and trying to enjoy workouts at the gym-through I’d
rather walk on the levee when the weather is nice.
We look forward to more traveling, spending time with family and
friends, and eventually in the future moving to the Oregon coast,
closer to my husband’s roots For now, we are content.

Worked twenty years for USDA,
Farm Service Agency, ten years each in
Grangeville and Orofino. The Orofino
office was closed in a downsizing, and I
took an early-retirement option in August, 2012.
Moved back to Lewiston in April, 2013, to be close to family. This June we
celebrated my Mom's great health after a year of cancer treatments by spending a
week at Maui. Nine of our family shared a house Mom rented for our enjoyment.
Here we are somewhere on the shore along the Road to Hana. We also celebrated
my nephew Trever's graduation from LHS this spring.
So when I moved back to Lewiston I thought I'd try
home ownership after 20-some years of not. It's fun being
physically active instead of sitting at a desk in front of a
computer at work day after day. So far I've torn a rotator
cuff, overstretched an achilles tendon, and realized how
nice it is to call the landlord when something's wrong. I do
love having a nice back yard to make a garden,
though. The deer in Orofino were relentless, and I hadn't
had a garden for eight years. Last year I enjoyed canning
green beans, pickles, and tomatoes from my harvest.

in our area over the past several years. Here I am on the
bridge at Chatcolet last year.
The great thing about this day is that Mom was
feeling good enough between treatments to ride the 10 or
so miles with us to Harrison for lunch and back. She did
great! And so did the 85-year-old gal from Moscow who
also went with us. I am so inspired by these people!
I don't do Facebook, so I've enjoyed reading your
stories and seeing your photos in this memory
book. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion!

Since the last reunion we made a big
move. Having lived and farmed at the ranch on the
Anatone flat since we married in 1977, we moved to
the Clarkston Heights in 2011. My commute is
shorter, Dave’s is longer but he has more flexibility
than I do. I am still working at LCSC as the Student
Account Manager and Dave continues to farm.
Though his schedule is moving toward selective
hours and semi-retirement, mine seems to be
getting busier than ever. I’m counting the years until
retirement!
We’ve been keeping busy with family and
friends, and especially our grandchildren’s activities.
Between ball games and 4-H we had very little time
this spring. Continued…..

Our youngest grandson has just learned to walk and is ready to run to keep up with
the others. We get to see them often since they all live close.
Our son, Dustin, his wife and 3 daughters moved in to the main house at the
ranch when we moved to town. He continues to farm with Dave, and Cami is the Ag
teacher at Clarkston High School. Their girls attend school in Asotin.
Our daughter, Megan, is still working at the Asotin County Conservation District.
Her husband, Justin, is in an apprenticeship program at Clearwater Paper. They are
busy with their 3 kids and a rental house. Actually their rental house has kept us all
busy this spring.
We try to work in a getaway vacation now and then. Enjoyed a trip south of
Cancun a couple years ago and are thinking a cruise is next. Vacation plans are the
next best thing to retirement plans!
We have been avid Seahawk fans since the beginning and we love being Super
Bowl Champions! Go Hawks!!

Well...after working as an RN a St.
Joseph Regional Medical center for
30 years, I retired and went to work
for The Regence Group starting in
Disease Management and then on
to Case Management getting my
certification in 2012.
I’m lucky both of my kids live in the
valley, my daughter a couple of
blocks away and my son, Morgan in Lewiston with his wife and 2 kids. We’ve got 5
grandchildren, 3 boys and 2 girls. We still have horses and my husband loves to take
his grandkids on rides. We love to camp and travel with our whole family. Christmas
of 2011 my daughter Megan and her husband, Laki and their kids went to Samoa
where my son -in -law’s father’s family is from. We met them a few weeks later on
their way home in Hawaii. Stayed at a special place and
are planning to return in April. We’ve also gone on cruises
with lots of family and lots of fun. My niece lives in the
Washington, DC area so we go for visits. My grandson
Tei, who is 8 loves history so I would love to take him next
time and show him all of the sites and monuments. My
family gets together on Sunday’s and my 89 year old
father, Boyd joins us. The great grandkids light that spark
in him. He is very healthy and independent. My mom
passed away in 2009. My brother, Boyd Jr. lives right next
door to me and helps us a lot with our horses when we’re
gone, so as you can see family is a huge priority for us!
Looking forward to seeing my classmates!

After graduation I went to the U of I for a year and a half, and then married Jerry Kuhn (class
of 1972), a friend of my brother’s. We lived in Germany for our first year, where one son was
born. A year later, our next son was born. We moved to Spokane in 1978. About the time
the kids went to school I returned to the work force, and landed in a local bank in 1989.
While there, I returned to college for a finance degree, and graduated from EWU in 1996. I
had some other life changes at the time, and ended up moving out on my own for awhile. I
met Ron and we married in April 1998. A week later I started a job in the finance department
of the corporate office of Potlatch in Spokane. The primary function was credit
management—not what I dreamed of doing when I grew up but the pay was decent and I
had the opportunity to travel around the country. Ron and I enjoyed taking road trips, and
we also made it to Italy a couple of times. I do have a love of learning and earned a master’s
degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga in 2010. However, the week I pulled up
my final grade, my position at Potlatch was eliminated.
We had talked about a wine business for at least five
years, and had been preparing for it, and in the fall of
2011 we opened a wine bar on Spokane’s South Hill-
Mezzo Pazzo, which means half-crazy Italian. It’s a
beautiful little place, but the sales aren’t high enough
and I’m now searching for a regular job. Maybe by the
time of the reunion I will have some new job news. It’s
tough at this age.
Kid news— they grew up well and both finished
college. Jeremy is a corrections officer at the county
jail, with 2 natural children and 3 more they adopted
through foster care. Gabe is a materials science
engineer in the LA area, and lives a mile from the
beach in Santa Monica. (I wish I could go see him
more often!). I love being a grandma but don’t see
them nearly enough. The two older girls are nearly
young women now.

40 years ago a girl wrote in my annual
the familiar phrase “Never change Dave,
always stay the same”. Kind of a self-
imposed arrested development, I guess.
Well, men are already cursed with an
inner 12 year old that they constantly
have to subdue so staying the same little
dipstick I was in high school hasn’t been
all that hard. They say men never grow
up, they just learn how to act in public.
Well, I am a pretty good actor. Mona
and I have lived and worked 30 of our
nearly 31 years of marriage on an ice
flow (Anchorage, Alaska). We like it
here for some stupid reason but have
always thought of retiring back around
Lewiston somewhere. Of course our three kids are from Alaska and will probably settle here, so who
knows? Life has not always been perfect but God has blessed me greatly in my life and I have gotten more
than I deserve. I consider myself very fortunate and live my life very grateful for what I have. Mona and I
have traveled in the U.S. but have never gone abroad or taken a cruise or anything like that. In a week after
this writing, we are flying to Italy and taking a Mediterranean Cruise—Rome, Athens, Istanbul, etc. I can’t
wait, but I feel a little like Jed Clampett must have felt just before he moved to Beverly Hills. Out of my
league. I will have to sit on my inner twelve year old so I don’t get
thrown in a foreign prison. Kirk Waterworth, Lyle Akkerman, Jeff
Crawford, Ed Wessels and I all spent three days up Hells Canyon by
way of Joe Rake’s jet boat back in 2011. Now there is a boat load of
“arrested development” for ya. We had a blast. It was our second
trip and nobody died so we should probably just stop at two, but who
knows. I love seeing you folks at these events but always feel a little
guilty afterwards that I didn’t get to spend as much time talking to
some of you as I would like. But I will do my best and make a better
effort this year and try to remember the wise words of Coach
Karlberg, “Hundrup, you block like a girl, quit lovin’ em’ to death!”
They have women’s hockey here in Alaska so that would be a
compliment now, but Ill try harder for our ol’ coach, I promise.
Take care, take your meds and watch your step old timer…..

Here is my story. After graduation I went to work at OMARK SPEER, September
1975, after many name changes and different job titles I am still there working for
Steve Moore along with Mark VonLindern. A year or so later I met my wife of 35
years this April, Frances Curtis.
In 1980 my dad and I built our house where we still live today. We have 2 sons, Tony
and Kyle.
On March 18, 2014 Kyle and his wife Rachel made us grandparents for the first time
with a grandson named Cruz.
I enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, riding
4-wheelers, guns, watching NASCAR, football and baseball, muscle care and street
rods.

My husband of 31 years and I have lived in rural Meridian/
Kuna for the past 22 years. I continue to enjoy my job with
the Boise School District as a school psychologist in the
early childhood program and I am part of the autism
diagnostic team for the district. I have two years until I
retire. My husband has already retired from Hewlett-Packard and now has a part-time
job delivering mail in rural Melba. We are looking forward to the next chapter in our
lives and hope to travel and pursue other interests in retirement. Both of my parents
have passed away now and I am in negotiations to sell the house on Airway where I
grew up-an emotional, but necessary task. Taking care of a house 300 miles away is
not an easy task, but we had a lot of help from some great people in Lewiston and
Clarkston especially after we were in an auto accident on one of our trips there
(concussions, broken neck, broken bones, Life Flight,
etc.).
We have two adult children. My son attends college (still
deciding his major) and my daughter is an early
childhood special education teacher in the Boise School
District and has just received her Masters Degree for the
Education of students with visual impairments.

Wow, can’t believe it. Here we are
again. Well lets see what has been happening in my
world the last 10 years: It is very hard for me to
put into words. Since 2002 we have lost several
family members due to illnesses. My mom passed
away in 2004. Six months later I lost my dad. In
2011 my daughter’s fiancé passed away and they
have a child together. Since his death my
daughter and grandson have moved back home
with us. I love every minute of everyday being a
grandmother. Most recently I lost my
grandmother. So, things have been pretty dang
rough. I used to talk to my mom every morning for several years just to see how her
day was and I used to spend many hours with my grandmother.
I worked for Wasems for several years and most recently started working for the
Lewiston Regional Airport. I have been with the Airport since November and loving
the job.
While my daughter lived in Boise we tried to visit them during
Boise State Football games and either have tailgate parties or
attend them. Sometimes the tailgate party would start at
daughter’s house with husband bar-b-cuing ribs. Then off to
the game. Most recently we went to Winnemucca on a bus trip
during the super bowl and had the best time.

My husband and I are planning a trip the end of March to go see his sister in
Baltimore, Maryland. It will be about a 10 day trip with a lot of site seeing.

morning. My husband works for the City of Lewiston and in a few years will retire.
