BRONX, NEW YORK

ST. THOMAS MORE, PATRON OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM PRAY FOR US :

O God our Creator,

from your provident hand we have received our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

You have called us as your people and given us the right and the duty to worship you, the only true God,

and your Son, Jesus Christ. Through the power and working of your Holy Spirit,

you call us to live out our faith in the midst of the world, bringing the light and the saving truth of the Gospel

to every corner of society.

We ask you to bless us in our vigilance for the gift of religious liberty.

Give us the strength of mind and heart to readily defend our freedoms when they are threatened;

give us courage in making our voices heard on behalf of the rights of your Church

and the freedom of conscience of all people of faith.

Grant, we pray, O heavenly Father, a clear and united voice to all your sons and daughters

gathered in your Church in this decisive hour in the history of our nation,

so that, with every trial withstood and every danger overcome—

for the sake of our children, our grandchildren, and all who come after us—

this great land will always be “one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

SAINT FRANCIS XAVIER PARISH

I am with you always! A reminder that Jesus is truly present in the Most Blessed Sacrament in the

Tabernacle in the small Chapel off the vestibule of the Church which is open every day until 6pm. Please stop

in at the some time throughout the day to make a visit and spend some time with our Lord Jesus, who is there waiting for you! ____________________________________________________ WE NEED EVERYONE’S HELP TO REACH OUR GOAL OF $52,500—WE ARE ALMOST THERE:

So far 166 of our parishioners have pledged $50,630 to the

Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal which puts at 96% on the way to our goal. We only have $1, 870 to go! It is so important for our Parish to make our goal.

If you have not already done so, your support now is so

much needed for the good of people and parishes in need throughout the Archdiocese of New York, as well as for the good of our own Parish.

Please consider making a gift or pledge today by filling out

your pledge card and mailing it in, or dropping it in the collection or at

the Rectory. Extra pledge envelopes are available in the Vestibule

of the Church. You can also make a gift online: www.cardinalsappeal.org or use the flier inserted in today’s bulletin. And thank you to all of you who have already so generously given to this years’ Cardinal’s Appeal.

THANK YOU! I cannot express adequately how moved I was and

how grateful I am for your overwhelming show of support and kindness to me last Saturday and throughout these days of preparing to move. I don’t think I will be able to thank each of you personally. Please know how grateful I am to all of you for your generous gifts and kind wishes. You have been such a blessing to me and I will miss all of you tremendously.

May the Lord continue to bless this beautiful Parish

and your new Pastor, Father Bob Verrigni. Father Bob will be coming into a very challenging financial situation as our revenues from weekly collections and other donations have fallen significantly in this last year. He and our parish are going to need your support more than ever.

Let us keep always keep each other in our prayers.

May the Lord fill you with His Peace and every spiritual blessing. May God bless us all.

Love,

Fr. Matthew Sacred Heart Church 125 Lafayette Avenue Suffern, NY 10190
