We are having a busy summer at the OCOD Training Center.!Our A/C contractor continued to tweak the new air-conditioning system that we are delighted to have installed now that the Florida summer is in full swing. We held another successful indoor Obedience trial at our own facility – and our entries continue to grow each year. The trial was immediately followed by a seminar featuring Celeste Meade. !!A project to remove most of the wall between Ring 2 and the puppy room will be starting soon. The wall removal will allow for better air circulation for the puppy room and will give us more flexibility in using our space, including the kind of activities that we can host.!!The Mid Florida Golden Retriever Club will be holding an obedience trial at our building in mid-August which will welcome all AKC registered dogs (Please make sure to remove your create if not entered in the trial). And finally, those who will be attending DOCOF are busy preparing for the event which is held on Labor Day Weekend each year and is the largest obedience event in the state.!!As I endlessly repeat, none of this would be possible without the volunteer hours put in by our members. Thank you. And to that special group of volunteers who are there early in the morning and stay until evening for nearly every event – a thousand Thank You’s. We appreciate your dedication to the club.!!Have you invited your dog loving friends to join our club? Some of our most active members first joined just because someone said, “Why don’t you come and see what we do?” We offer friendship and a great training location for everyone who enjoys the sport of dog training.!!Pat Mozden

“Celeste Meade Seminar”
Immediately following our July trial, Celeste Meade gave a seminar July 18 &19 at the OCOD Training Center. Celeste owns a highly successful dog training center in New Hampshire and has been a well-known name in the dog world for decades.
At the seminar, Celeste gave the group spot on techniques for training, and information on what is done in other parts of the country. Her insight as a judge, and her personal experiences as a trainer made for a wealth of tidbits and training exercises that were useful for anyone who attended.
Thank you to Maria & Ralph Orlando along with Joyce Swegle who organized this event.

and Rally Judge. Deborah was proud to be invited to represent the sport of Rally on the First and
second AKC Rally Advisory Committee. She was the Vice President for DOCOF (Dog Obedience Clubs of Florida) for several years.
