Intervention Ease of UseThe following table describes the ease of use for the available interventions once it has been “installed or set up” on a computer and the student/teacher has been trained. Interventions must be monitored and troubleshooting computer problems is very time consuming.

Grade Levels: Course I – Grades K – 1 (use with students through 3rd grade)

Course II - Grades 2 – 3 (use with students through 5th grade)

Skills Addressed: Course I – fundamental print concepts, phonics, alphabetic principles, vocabulary,

phonemic awareness, early reading fluency, automatic word recognition, three-letter words, comprehension strategies, informational text, narrative fiction

Course II – elements of fiction, comprehension, elements of nonfiction, advanced phonics, early grammar, word study, reading for task-related purposes

Materials: Worksheets available for certain lessons Tests can be assigned at the end of units Program can prescribe additional activities based upon test scores

Interactive PhonicsReading Program

Grade Levels: K – 2

Skills Addressed: Phonemic awareness Reading fluency Spelling Decoding Vocabulary High frequency words

Materials: Stage A – Lessons 1 – 36 Stage B – Lessons 36 – 72 Phonics Readers accompany each lesson Flash Cards Students may record themselves reading the story Teacher can listen to the recording at a later time Worksheets for each lesson are available if requested Placement Test

Reports: Assessment Log includes the number and title of each reader that has been completed, the

date and score of the word challenge, scores for the decodable and high-frequency words, and failing scores of 73% or less must be repeated.

Type of Program: Stand-alone software program. Student must use the CD in the same computer each time

so the management system can track the progress.

Language!Reading Program

Grade Levels: 4 – 12

Skills Addressed: Each 90 minute lesson consists of six steps: Phonemic awareness and phonics Word recognition and spelling Vocabulary and morphology Grammar and usage Listening and reading comprehension Speaking and writing

Lexia Early ReadingReading Program:

Grade Levels: Pre-K to 2

Skills Addressed: Level 1: increase phonological awareness skills Rhyming, recognition of initial and final sounds, segmentation, and blending

Level 2: Introduces basic sound/symbol correspondence and listening skills for beginning and ending sounds

Consonants, short vowels, and consonant digraphs

Materials: None

Reports: Student Reports, usage reports, task progress reports, and class reports can be accessed

through administrative section. Bar graphs, i-button use reports and current unit snapshots can be accessed through

student learning activity screen.

Type of Program: Server based Installation disk is required to load on each computer to enable ability to connect to the

server.

Moving With MathMath Program

Grade Levels: 3rd, 4th and 5th
