PRONOUNS AFTER PREPOSITIONS• Pronouns can stand or be replaced with the same noun

yet still have different forms, depending on how they’re being used in a sentence.

• You already know subject pronouns and the pronouns used with “gustar”. But pronouns have a different form when they come after prepositions like:

“a” (to) “de” (of, from, about)

“con”(with) “en” (in, on, at)

Subject With gustar After Prep. English

Yo me mi I

Tu te ti You

Usted le usted (Formal) You

El/Ella le el/ella He/She

Nosotros nos nosotros We

Ustedes les ustedes (Plural) You

Ellos/Ellas les ellos/ellas They/Them

PRONOUNS AFTER PREPOSITIONS (CONT.)• The pronouns “mi” and “ti” combine with “con” to make

the special forms:

• Conmigo – With me• Contigo – with you

• With gustar, the phrase formed by “a” and a pronoun can be added to a sentence to clarify or emphasize who likes something.
