HOT LINE CLAMPSFOR EVERY CONTACT COMBINATION - TEMPORARY OR PERMANENTHot Line Clamps are ideal for temporary service loads or fortemporarily isolating when making replacements or repairs, and they can be equally durable for long term service.
Chance S1500 Series Clamps are available in a wide varietyof types for every contact combination. Plating (where indi-cated) is to back up the inhibiting compound in preventinggalvanic corrosion and weathering deterioration.

5-Way Protected Connection
Chance S1500 Series Clamps offer 5-Way Protection to inhibit corrosion andassure long service life in operation, with these features:1 - Thread Protection Against Corrosion—Eyescrew threads are enclosed in
a threaded chamber and protected by a wide temperature range, corrosion-inhibiting compound.
2 - Thread Protection Against Arcing and Burning — The clamp bodyprotects the threads from damage by the arcing of charging currents as theclamp is applied or removed.
3 - Conductor Protection Against Heavy Surges — Wide clamp jaws makemaximum contact with the outside strands of the conductor; this providesgreater conductivity, better current distribution, less heating, and protectionagainst heavy surges.
4 - Conductor Protection Against Vibration Fatigue — Main line contactfaces are slightly tapered at the ends and the edge of the jaw is rounded tominimize stress concentration and to prevent sharp bending of the conductor.
5 - Clamp Protection Against Mechanical Failure — All Chance clampdesigns have been thoroughly tested in both field and laboratory to assuremechanical strength against torque and vibration. Periodic metallographicexaminations and quality control inspections assist production in providingmaximum reliability in clamp performance.
• Contact Aid Protection and Packaging
Chance protected thread clamps can be furnished in plastic packages and with thecontact grooves coated with Z.L.N. 100*. The transparent plastic bag keeps theclamp clean while in storage and free from dust particles or other foreign matter.Contact surfaces are filled with Z.L.N. 100 Electrical Contact Aid to preventcorrosion and to aid in maintaining low joint resistance.
