BROWN GORAYEB NAR Chief at CREBA Meet and CIPS grad rites REALTOR® Steven Brown, 2012 First Vice-President and concurrently president- elect for 2014 of the Chicago- based National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) will be the guest of honor and com- mencement speaker during the graduation ceremonies of the Philippine maiden offering of the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) course to be held on February 27, 2012, Monday, 7:00 pm at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. The event is hosted by the Chamber of Real Estate & Builders’ Associations Inc. (CREBA) and will be held simultaneous with the Second CREBA Monthly Business Meeting. CREBA, which is pres- ently the exclusive NAR cooperating association in the Philippines, is headed by Charlie A. V. Gorayeb, national president. The NAR, known to be the “Voice for Real Estate”, is the world’s largest trade association representing 1.1 million REALTORS® in the Unites States and thousands more in 60 other countries in- volved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries. Brown, a REALTOR® for more than 35 years, is a multi-awarded real estate professional who has served NAR in various positions since 2005. On the state and local levels, Brown served as presi- dent of the Ohio Association of REALTORS® in 2002 and as Presi- dent of the Dayton Area Board of REALTORS® in 1996. From 2005- 2010 he served as a member, and later chair, of the Ohio Division of Real Estate’s Education and Research Advisory Committee. The delegation of NAR leaders who will be in Manila to grace the CIPS is headed by Asuncion M.A. Henry, NAR President’s Liaison to the Philippines. Henry, along with Jeffrey Hornberger, Director for Global Alliances, will lead the pinning ceremonies of the newest batch of International REALTOR® Members (IRM). The CIPS course covers the various facets of international real estate transactions in the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific markets. More than eighty real estate professionals from the Philippines completed the CIPS during the first Manila offering held at the AIM Conference Center in Makati City from February 20-24, 2012, with internationally-renowned speaker Aida Turbow as lead trainer. According to Gorayeb, the industry came under one roof during the CIPS as leaders of some of the biggest national and regional associations of real estate players converged, all aiming for the prestigious CIPS designation – an elite network composed of only 2,500 around the globe. Among them are Hon. Eduardo G. Ong, chairman of the Profes- sional Regulatory Board of Real Estate Service and heads of NREA, REBAP, PhilRES, PAREB and its Manila and Quezon City boards. Powerhouse .
