    Caring for the Future Foundation - Philippines Issue # 1, June-July 2014

Children achieve academic honorsSchool Year 2013-2014 proved to

be a banner year for Caring for the

Future Foundation as severalchildren under its care posted

    academic milestones.

    Three clients graduated from high

    school -Kristine (In-house client),

    Kervin (After-care program), and

    Marvin (Fostership program).

    Meanwhile, three children

    graduated from elementary,

namely, Cyra Marie, Jerome (both In-

    house clients) and Jacob (After-care

As it is the objective of the Caring for

the Future Foundation Philippines toprepare its clients to eventually live

with their nearest kin or immediate

family upon reaching age of reason,

the children under the care of the

Center visited the places they oncecalled home and mingled with their

known relatives on various dates ofMay 2014.

    Client Mebeilyn stayed with her

nearest relative on May 6, while

clients John Vincent Leo and Katrina

    were brought to Malasiqui,

    Pangasinan, and clients Ramel and

Ramilia to Lingayen, Pangasinan, onMay 6 to 8.

On May 7 to 9, clients Jerome and

    Clients visit homes

    program), whileKathrinaand

    Ramilaboth received Academic

    Merit awards.

The CFFP Board of Trustees and

    Center administration are optimistic

that with the current program of the

    Foundation, the clients will be

    academically-

    equipped and

    serve as

    inspiration to

    others similarly

    situated.

Cyra Marie stayed with their family at

Alaminos City, while clients Kristine and

    Krysel at Sual, Pangasinan.

The family members of the clients

expressed their gratitude to the staffof the Center, noting that the

    children appear happier and

healthier while staying in theCenter, and offered words of

    encouragement to their young

stewards since at the moment it is

only the Center which can providefor all their needs.

CFFP, although it has custody of

the children, encourages constantinteraction with the nearest living

relative to foster ease of transition

from the Center to eventual returnto the homes and the society.

    Caring for the Future Foundation - Philippines Issue # 1, June-July 2014

I am Mebielyn Javier Fernandez, 16 years old

from Uradaneta Pangasinan. I was once a

street child but on May 26, 2006, everything

changed when I was admitted at Caring for the

    Future Foundation Philippines (CFFP).

CFFP became my new family. I felt their love

and their care. But I will never forget the

hardships and struggles I experienced at a very

    young age.

I used to be a street child. I used to beg in the

streets for money and food but now I can eat

three complete nutritious meals. The long

streets and sidewalks of Urdaneta City had

been my shelter and home with the rest of my

family. It didnt matter if it rained hard or if

its too hot. We didnt mind of our safety as

long as we are all together.

But everything changed when the Caring for

the Future Foundation came to rescue me. At

first, I was resistant being away from my

    family. It was very hard.

As years passed, I came to realize how blessed

am I to be part of the CFF family. I can now

study which I thought I could never do if Im

still a street child. But more importantly I

learned how to love and care for myself and

others. I have learned many values that are

beneficial to my growing years. Now I have

become responsible and I am now able to

    dream for my future.

On behalf of my co residents I am extending

my warmest gratitude to all benefactors who

continuously support us. Without you, wehave nothing. Without you, we are nothing.

With you, our dreams will finally be realized.

You all gave us hope that no matter how

difficult our lives are, there are still many

people who would care and love us.

I am knocking on your hearts once again for

your continuous support to the Caring for the

    Future Foundation Philippines. My brothers

and sisters and I look forward to a brighter

future because of the help you have given to usthrough CFFP. Maraming salamat po!
