Be a part of the Christmas Story!
Readers and soloists will rehearse Sunday, December 11 from 12:30 - 1:30 PM.
The dress rehearsal for ALL participants will be Sunday, December 18 from 12:30 - 2:30PM.
There are non-speaking acting and reading opportunities for 3rd through 6th graders.
Creation (pre-K and K) and Cherub (1st-2nd Grade) choirs sing at the 5:00PM service. The Carol choir (3rd-6th Grade) sings
at the 6:30PM service. Children in choirs may also serve as actors or readers.
On Christmas Eve: the children participating in the 5:00PM
service must arrive by4:30PM and those participating at 6:30PM must arrive by 6:00PM.
Adults are needed to help the actors before, during, and
after the service with costumes and clean-up. To sign up to be a part of a service, please contact Diane.

This year’s Children’s Christmas Eve Services will be held at 5:00 and 6:30PM.
There are opportunities for children to share the Christmas Story at each of these services.
Family Advent Workshop
December 11, 3:00 - 5:00 PM This family-friendly event for all ages invites children and adults to create reminders of the real reason we celebrate Christmas. Childcare will be provided for those less than 3 years old. Christmas treats and light snacks will be provided. Please sign up in advance to ensure we have enough supplies. **Adult & Children’s Advent Resources are available at the table next to the Narthex Welcome Center.**
Madrigal Feastes
December 9 and 10
Enjoy a four-course Renaissance dinner, music by brass and harp, a short comedic drama presentation and a concert of period choral music by the Royal Court, all presented by costumed players.
Tickets are $30 per person and will be on sale at the Welcome Center or the church office. Attendance is recom-mended for ages 10 and up as the evening will run 2 – 2 ½ hours. Childcare, with advance registration, is available for children ages 9 and under for $5 per child, $10 family maximum. Invite friends and family to this unique, entertain-ing, and enjoyable event. Seating begins at 6:30 PM.

Opportunity
Children’s Ministry encourages families to support the CUMC congregation-wide mission Holiday Food Basket project. CUMC is collecting food items to provide Christmas food baskets for families in need in the community. Below is a list of most-needed food items for these Holiday Food Baskets. Monetary donations to sponsor these food baskets can also be made– please note ―Food Baskets‖ in the memo line and place it in the offering basket or bring it to the church office. Please place all donations of food items in the ―Food for All‖ bins in the Narthex.

Family Movie Night
January 19, 7:00 PM Families and friends of CUMC are invited to a free showing of Disney / Pixar’s classic animated film ―Toy Story‖ at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 19 in the Recreation and Outreach Center (ROC).
Bring your chairs and blankets and get comfy in the ROC for a fun family movie night. A light nut-free snack will be provided. Families are welcome to bring their own snacks (no nuts please) and covered drinks. Contact Diane with any questions.
2017-2018 Preschool Priority Registration – Priority registration for all CUMC church members will be January 9 – 13. General registration for the public will begin Tuesday, January 17 during the preschool Open House at 7pm. Registration Information and 2017-2018 Applications for Admission will be available on the church website and at the Welcome Center by late De-cember. All applications must be received by 2pm Janu-ary 13 to be considered for priority registration.
2017-2018 Preschool Open House – will be January 17 @ 7pm. All class-rooms will be open for a tour and teachers will be available to discuss the special preschool program CDS has to offer. Both parents and children are welcome to attend.
