We are pleased to inform you that the Total Quality Management System (TQMS), ChristUniversity, Bangalore, is organizing an Indo- African CONFERENCE ON LEADERSHIP INHIGHER EDUCATION : MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY from 12 October through 14, 2011

CONCEPT

Higher educational institutions are today challenged to improve their institutional governance

and management for sustainability. In this context, the role that senior administrators play as

managers of institutions is fundamental and crucial for success.

The goal of the conference is to address a range of critically important issues and themes

relating to innovations in higher education, management and technology. Further, the

conference intends to identify, study and disseminate the competencies needed by senior

administrators in institutions of higher education for effective management of their

institutions and to analyze issues that challenge any modern higher educational institutions.

It aims at generating new ideas, perspectives, practices, experiences and implications to scale

up their competitiveness, evolve and respond positively to the challenging and complex

environment.

The conference refocuses the aims, nature and purpose of higher education considering the

emerging trends within higher education in their changing roles as universities and colleges

to stimulate and incorporate methods of quality management to determine academic

excellence.

View universities and colleges as learning organizations fostering change



Identify emerging needs and challenges of Indo- African higher education Systems

METHODOLOGY

The conference has been crafted to accommodate academic inputs consisting of keynotes,presentations and panel discussions.

CALL FOR PAPERS AND PRESENTATIONS

Papers on the following areas are invited:

Higher education and its relevance in a changing environment

Changing higher education communities, teachers’ and learners

Organizational issues and technological changes

Reforms in educational management of higher education and its impacts in improving thequality of Higher educational Institutions

Quality assurance and accreditation in higher education

Academic competency of educational leaders

Administrative competency of educational leaders

Technology challenges for higher education

Leveraging educational technology for management decisions in higher education

e-learning for management decisions

Note: The above themes are indicative in nature. Authors are free to bring in their own perspectives,review and experience.

SPECIAL CONTRIBUTIONS

A number of experts both from India and Africa on the conference topics will be addressing the majorthemes of the conference. Exclusive research based papers on the above themes by experts andindividuals interested in the subject of the conference are invited.

FULL LENGTH PAPER

Papers should not exceed 3000 words. They should be typed in a single column, with 1.5 linespacing, in Times New Roman 12 font. The first page should include the paper title, with author’s



name, postal address, telephone number and email id at the right hand top corner of the page. Pleasedo not have a cover page for the paper.

SUBMISSION AND REGISTRATION OF PAPERS

A participant intending to present a paper in the conference should prepare an abstract of about 100words. The abstract along with the completed registration form and registration fee should besent to the Director, TQMS on or before August 30, 2011. The full length paper should besubmitted on or before September 15, 2011. The paper must be presented by the author or the co-author. Abstracts and full length papers can be sent in an MS word attachment by e-mailto [email protected]

PAPER PRESENTATION IS NOT MANDATORY FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE CONFERENCE.

IMPORTANT DATES

Last date for submission of abstract : August 30, 2011 Communication from the Centre on selected papers : September 15, 2011

Last date for submission of full length paper : September 25, 2011

Last date for all registrations : October 5, 2011

Spot registration may be allowed in special cases.
