General InformationLOCATION: The sale will be held at the South Central Regional Stockyards located at

221 Highway 42 West, Vienna, MO

TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash unless other arrangements are made in advance with the owner. Settlements are to be made with the clerk of the sale immediately at the conclusion of the auction. All stock will be at buyer’s risk as soon as bid-ding ends, but the management will attend to loading on trucks in compliance with instructions from the purchasers.

GUARANTEE: All cattle will sell under the suggested sale terms and condtiions of the American Hereford Association.

HEALTH: Individual health papers will be furnished with each lot sold. A number are Calfhood Vaccinated. All bulls are semen & trich tested. All bulls will be weighed from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on the Friday before the sale.

BIDS: The Auctioneer-In-Charge will have final say in regard to all final bids.

MAIL or WIRE BIDS: We hope each and everyone interested can attend the sale in person, but those who cannot may mail or wire bids to the Auctioneer or any of the Representatives.

AI CERTIFICATES: Any female that is bred to an AI sire not owned by the seller will NOT have an AI certificate furnished.

SALE ORDER: The sale order will be as follows: Cow/Calf Pairs, Open Heifers, Bulls, Bred Heifers, Bred Cows, followed by Commerical Females.

CATALOG ERRORS: Statements from the auction block take precedence over printed material. The most current EPDs from AHA issued registrations were used when available. EPDs are subject to change twice a year based on data submitted to the AHA. The most current EPDs are available from the AHA’s website at www.hereford.org.

Dear Friends, On behalf of the Central Missouri Polled Hereford Breeder’s As-sociation, we would like to extend to you a personal invitation to join us at our NEW LOCATION, the SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL STOCK-YARDS for our 107th sale. The South Central Regional Stockyards are lo-cated at 221 Highway 42 West, Vienna, MO. Although we enjoyed having several sales at the sale barn in Eldon, Mo. we were told by Wendy Cantrell that her facility would no longer be doing any registered sales. We appreci-ate her past hospitality and must respect her decision to stop doing regis-tered sales. There is a saying that when a door closes a window opens. The move to the South Central Regional Stockyards in Vienna Mo. has opened a number of windows to better serve our customers. The South Central Regional Stockyards in Vienna is a wonderful facility with a large restaurant and access to DVA Auctions. It is our hope that everyone will be able to attend our sale but we realize that that is not always possible. We are excited to offer the ability to view and bid on the cattle over the internet. The Central Missouri Polled Hereford Breeder’s Association has had 106 sales since starting in 1952. We have enjoyed that kind of success by offering cattle that will fit in a purebred operation or add to the profitability of a commercial operation. We offer quality cattle in an affordable pack-age. This sale will offer cattle from some of the breed’s best AI sires. There are sons and daughters of Revolution, Durango, Hometown, Fusion, Trust, Whitmore, and Nasdaq. Almost anybody could make money in the cow calf sector when feeder calves were over three dollars a pound. But we all knew an adjustment was coming. The cow calf sector is still profitable. It is now that the fertility, longevity, disposition and feed efficiency of the Hereford is so important. The added profit from the feed efficiency and heterosis of the Hereford bull is undisputed. • Over 10 yr. period, Hereford-sired herds over Angus-sired herds showed Hereford-sired herds would add $514 net over the life of a cow, or approximately $51 per cow per year to a rancher’s bottom line.

• Economic models also predicted that after 10 years, due to in-creased fertility and longevity Hereford-sired females would generate a 20% advantage in herd size versus the straight Angus commercial cows due to increased calving and replacement options.

• An operation that had 100 cows and used the Hereford sires over a 10 year period would have a greater one time net present value on their operation of $51,400.

Central Missouri Polled Hereford Breeder’s assoCiation

The Central Missouri Polled Hereford Breeder’s Association was organized in Linn, Missouri in June 1952 as an effort to promote the Polled Hereford breed. Early members sought to exhange ideas at association meetings and cooperate to present their cattle at annual shows & sales.

Over the past sixty years, more than one hundred sales of quality hereford cattle have been hosted by the assoication. Under the early leadership of Mr. Richard Seifert, as president, and Mr. Lawrence Renn as secretary & treasurer, the association grew beyond the limits of Linn, Missouri, and became a collaboration of breeders throughout Central Missouri.

In the Fall of 2012, Valley View Farms was recognized as the only breeder who has sold in every sale since the founding of the association. That tradition continues through his sons and grandsons who are still active members to this day.

Today, the association owes its longevity to the tradition of selling high quality Polled Hereford cattle to breeders across the country. Cattle purchased at their sales have gone on to win championships at the Denver National shows.
