Looking forward to retirement years, but still not there yet! Nursing has been my career for 40 years and I've had many moments of

awe caring for the critically ill and now specialize in caring for the older adult (me!) in acute care. My husband and I celebrated 25

years of marriage by traveling to London, Paris and Rome. What an adventure! I’ve been blessed over the years with a loving family

and 4 wonderful children. The only thing I have left on my bucket list is to hold a grandchild in my arms-and that’s not in my control!

Hello, my CHS friends - long time, no see! Blown off course by an unlucky draft lottery number in 1970, and committed to resisting

the war in Viet Nam, I left Stanford without completing my degree. It took a couple of years, but I did succeed in freeing myself from

the draft, intending to return and finish school. Naturally, living in San Francisco, I took a long detour through carpentry, theater, mu-

sic, Chinese martial arts, and ultimately a Master's degree and license in Traditional Chinese Medicine. I have practiced and taught in

SF, at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and privately, since 1978; now semi-retired. I had the Rip Van Win-

kle experience of returning in 2004 to finish undergrad work at Stanford in the Human Biology Program, and to do research in Chi-

nese Medicine. Don't try this at home! I garnered the moniker 'Jurassic Student' among my youthful classmates, finding myself the

second-longest 'stop-out' returning student in SU history - the actor Jack Palance came back after 50 years! I married twice, and

have two sets of kids. My oldest daughter works for Chas. Schwab in SF, and has a daughter of her own. Next daughter is in Med

school in Cuba; then a daughter and a son in high school. Whew! Cheers ~Chuck A.

After teaching in the classroom for 34 years, I retired. During some of those years I had a Professional Development business that

used paper and pencils. Now the Professional Development business revolves around computer software. We provide interactive

whiteboard training along with other applications school districts need. I love living in Scottsdale. It is like living in a resort all year

I"ve done the factual thing in previous reunion directories. The only update is that I'm older, possibly wiser, but definitely retired. It

Tim is a lawyer and Matt does computer tech support. We have a 1 1/2 year old grandson from Tim and Jennifer in Atlanta. In Oc-

tober 2011, I will have worked for PNC Bank for 34 years. I ran the management training program for loan officers for 14 years.

Now, as a credit manager, I approve the loans and other business we do with other banks. My husbands owns a small business leas-

ing company. My Mom just had her 90th birthday and my Dad had his 91st birthday and are still living in their home where I grew

up.

We both continue to enjoy retirement. We are lucky enough to be able to escape winter in the north country by going to Palm Coast,

FL from late fall to early spring. Amazing how quickly you forget about snow, and sub freezing weather. We continue to follow

Husker Football, and never miss a home game. Usually about 10K miles driving a year to watch the games in Lincoln. I continue to

enjoy my amateur radio hobby ( N9EVP ), taking long Harley rides throughout the FL/IL area , golf, beach time, church activities,

grandkids, trying to keep up on tech trends, and spending time with friends from the Omaha area. Many of our friendships from Beals,

and Norris continue to this day. Let's hope all of us may enjoy all that life has to offer today and in the future. God Bless to All

After attending Univ of Iowa, I left the midwest and have lived in a number of states including California and Florida before landing

in Georgia (for now). Some of my favorite memories of the past 45 years include hiking, camping and fishing in the Sierras; winter

holidays in the White Mountains of Arizona with my family and road trips all over the southeast. I'm planning to retire in a few years

and have recently started a business with 3 partners called Total Balance LLC. We are all Usui & Tibetan Reiki Masters. I've just

finished a 2 year certification course in Crystal Resonance Therapy, as well. I'm really looking forward to leaving the left brain legal/

regulatory compliance work that I'm doing now for the more right brain, people focused world of alternative healing!

So sorry to be missing the reunion. Just had my entire family in Omaha for Labor Day Weekend and enjoyed showing Central to eve-

ryone. Robert and I are enjoying being grandparents, traveling and just having more free time to garden and play tennis. Our daughter

just graduated from college and our two sons are married to terrific women. Two kids live in Washington DC and one in Boston. We

Another 5 years and life is still good. My wife, Barb, has joined me in my dental office and now handles all the front office duties and

has been a great help in organizing things and making our staff into a great team. Nowhere near ready to retire yet. By far our biggest

joy in life is being with our 3 grandchildren in Dallas and Minneapolis. We can't seem to get enough of them--wish they were closer.

Barb and I still love traveling and have been to Europe, Alaska, Mexico and the Caribbean. Still an avid Brewers, Badgers and Pack-

Life has been difficult the last few years-my Dad (actually my Step-Father) died November 3, 2010, my Mother had a stroke on De-

cember 15, 2010, and my Mother's dementia became severe enough that she is now living in a Memory Care Facility. We are very

I have been living in Iowa for 38 years. We have 3 sons. Scott just moved to Moscow, Russia, where he is the director of develop-

The 45th Reunion will be a double celebration for me as it starts on my last day of work with the telephone company. Amazing 41+

years at one company which has had four different names, so I'll retire as a CenturyLink employee. What will I do next? You mean

ony software -- in between I worked with a large mining company, acted as VP of engineering for a very small instrumentation com-

pany, and put in a stint at GE research labs in Schenectady, NY. Retirement is on the horizon in a couple of years or so. Last week

Central High School provided an exceptionally strong intellectual preparation for college. The instructors were inspirational, dedi-

cated and prepared us well for the future. I especially remember our senior play,"My Fair Lady,"--what an amazing and professional

presentation--Jane Schmidt & Cory Richards were great in their roles. I especially have fond memories of AP German and AP Eng-

lish (Gretchen Schutte Moylan and Ed Clark)--we were truly challenged in these classes--so many memorable and funny moments. I

remember when Ed Clark cried while we were reading Shakespeare--we were so moved by his love for literature that it became conta-

gious to the rest of us. There were lots of opportunities to build leadership skills through many clubs and organizations that were en-

thusiastically mentored by faculty. Loved my years at Central so much that I returned as Department Chair of World Languages in

1989-90 before returning to UNL as a Professor of Teaching, Learning and Teacher Education.

Although I haven't made it back to any CHS reunions except the Ten Year, I remember our Class of '66 with tremendous fondness,

and take pride in thinking that I knew and remember just about all 727 of us! I WILL BE AT THE 50th! After 34 wonderful years, I

lost my beloved husband, Bill Bridgmon (Benson, '66) in 2008. In 2010 I retired from the University of Arizona where I ran the Of-

fice of Faculty Governance for 14 years. My primary retirement activity is as a Sabino Canyon Volunteer Naturalist, interpreting na-

ture and the desert for elementary field trips, the general public, and our many winter visitors. In May, 2011 I went on a primitive

camping/river rafting trip on the San Juan River in Southern Utah with the Archaeological Conservancy to view ancient cliff dwell-

ings and ancestral pueblos. In July 2012, I will tour the Galapagos Islands and the headwaters of the Amazon in Ecuador. I am a

breast cancer survivor (4 years). I would love to hear from any of you! I make it back to Omaha about once every other year.

Hi, everybody! I love being retired from teaching. It gives me more time to practice my instruments, travel with my wife and im-

prove my cooking. I'm currently playing in the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra, Nebraska Chamber Players, Son del Llano (salsa band),

Lincoln Municipal Band, Group Sax, and every now and then in the pit at the Orpheum Theatre for touring Broadway shows. My

fondest memories of CHS include Road Shows, hanging out with all the other band and orchestra folks, running up fourteen (?) flights

of stairs from the band room to the cafeteria, and playing in the pit for the musicals. Cutting Mrs. Buresh's chemistry class in order to

Jesus is my Savior and I owe everything I have to him. Herb and I have been married over 40 years and we have three children, 4

My work unit was discontinued in June 2005 after nearly 18 years at the Internal Revenue Service. That loss was a blessing, which

allowed me time to spend with my mother, Florence McCoy (CHS cafeteria employee for 25 years). She was diagnosed with stage 4

cancer a few weeks after I graduated from Christ Clown College, in November 2006. My sister, Patty Ullman (class of ’67) & I read-

ied our childhood home of 60 years for sale after Mom died in June 2007. It was tough losing the house, but even harder when Patty

died the next spring. I cherish my remaining sibling, Bob McCoy (class of ’64), who lives in Lincoln, NE. I have been employed in

Customer Service at PayFlex Systems USA since October 2007, helping participants understand their flexible spending benefits &

other products. My joy comes from spending time with my daughters & grandchildren, performing in church services with the Life In

Forty-five years...Unbelievable! The journey has been "interesting" - two fantastic daughters and a brand new grandson, a new begin-

ning with a second marriage, career adaptation and reinvention, a second residence in the Republic of California and many new

friends along the way. However, as I approach "geezerhood", I remember my days as a hall monitor in front of the old auditorium,

pigeons being enticed into study hall, gender-specific stairways, sprinting for the car from the senior picnic at Elmwood Park after

someone yelled "police!", being politically incorrect at basketball games with C-Squad buddies and generally making lifelong friends

that continue to provide a connection to those precious, innocent days.

important elements are there. My wife and I have been fortunate to have a good marriage, wonderful children, supportive family and

dependable, caring friends. The career that I fell into by accident has brought me satisfaction and adequate remuneration. We have

traveled, had many good times, and our share of heartache. I am grateful for the foundation on which my life has been built; family,

After graduating college I married Stuart Kutler in 1969. We pursued our careers and raised two wonderful daughters, and then Stuart

and I became snowbirds in 1999, spending about half our time in Scottsdale, AZ. After living in Omaha my whole life, it has been a

wonderful adventure to experience living in a new place. I have been a practicing psychotherapist since 1984, and I continue to

maintain my practice in Omaha. It has been a very fulfilling career, and I plan to continue pracicing at least into the near future. Our

daughter Alison is single and a very successful attorney in Washington, D.C. Our daughter Traci is married to Lance Kugler and they

have five beautiful children between the ages of 2 and 9.They are the lights of our lives. All in all, life is good and I am looking for-

It is unlikely I will visit Omaha again, but I do value the friends and education during the years I was at CHS. Although I always

planned to live in a large city, I ended up in a small town in rural Montana and finally moved to Missoula, the only blue spot in a de-

cidedly red state. My work life has been mostly in the non-profit world: manger of a Planned Parenthood clinic and associate director

of the Montana Geriatric Education Center. I also did a stint late in life with the Peace Corps. Now, I am retired and love having more

time to travel. So far, I haven’t had the urge to volunteer. All those years in orchestra led me to an interest in opera. Before my knees

gave out, I played tennis, went cross country skiing out my back door and took long hikes. Walking, Ta’i Chi Chih and helping my

husband with his garden are filling the void.

I moved back to Omaha, Ne in 1993. I attended college late in life, and I graduated UNO 2000 with a BS in Communications. I cur-

rently work for Pitney Bowes INC. in their HR Service Center as an HR Agent. I remember the last time I attended a Central High

reunion and was very embarrassed that I did not remember a lot of my classmates. Thank God for the Year Book pictures that was

posted on the wall. WHEW!! what a recovery. I know it is about time for retirement, but at this time i'm quite scared. I see retiree's

that are doing absolutely nothing with their lives and are dying young. I want to have a plan for retirement, so I am prolonging it for

another 2 years. This will give me 2 yrs to put a plan in place so that I am not sitting around doing nothing. In my plans for retirement,

I want to move to a warmer climate. In my life time, I have never attended a Tailgate Party. What a wonderful idea. I look forward

to seeing all of you there.

UNO graduated '71, married '70, moved to Chicago for seminary '71, graduating '75 with doctorate; moved to Massachusetts to my

first church in Lancaster (founded 1653) for 20 years 1975-1995; then my second (and current) church in Weston (younger church,

founded 1698). Active in denominational, ecumenical, interfaith, and social justice concerns. Followed-up being editor of the "Teen

Scene" in the Omaha Sun newspapers by editing The Unitarian Universalist Christian theological journal 1980-2010 and Healing

Ministry 2005-2010 (a journal for hospice chaplains). My church had my portrait painted last year and a collection of my sermons

was published, so that suggests I'm heading toward retirement. All of my original family have died (father, mother, brother) so Omaha

connections are very important to me. My bride retired last year, and our son is living in Cambridge, MA, making a lot of money
