The Center City Development Corporation will host “Creative Free Space” at the Innovation Center on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.

Our second free space event will be held on Wednesday, October 19 from 9am-1pm. You can stay for the entire window or come for only a portion of the day.

The Innovation Center will be hosting this space for free. It’s an opportunity to bring your current project and bounce ideas off of other like professionals, get and give feedback,

A candidate debate for the Richmond City Council will be held at the Innovation Center on Wednesday, October 26 at 8:30 am and will be moderated by Radio Troy.

Jason Whitney, Co-Executive Director for the Center City Development Corporation explained, “It is an opportunity for business owners and city council candidates to discuss issues related to the Central Business District. It is also a great opportunity to discuss how the city and business owners can better interact with one another.”

The Wayne County Young Adult Professionals (YAP) group (founded in 2003) is active again in the Wayne County community. The group will soon be called HYPE Richmond (Helping Young Professionals Engage). Find them on Twitter!

The goal of this group is to link resources and opportunities of Wayne County’s young professionals for the purpose of supporting the growth, advancement and success of the future leaders of our community.

The group is currently planning events to network with as many young professionals in the area as possible, with hopes of involving IU East, Ivy Tech, and Earlham.

Center City Development Corporation would like to thank everyone who donated money towards the purchase and installation of bike racks in the Central Business District. We collected $925 to grant to the Urban Enterprise Association for the implementation of this important project!

These bike racks will help in complying with the proposed 2011 Richmond Transportation Plan, which takes into consideration the improvement of pedestrian and biking routes, among other important transportation issues that are being addressed in the city.
