The Celts emerged during the late bronze age around 800 b.c. age and iron age.

They were an *ethno-linguistic society that were able to conquer most of Europe.* A society that adopts the language of their conquered.

and knowledge.

Warriors put lime in their hair before battle to lighten the shade of their hair.

The Celts were originally a pagan culture but were

converted to Catholicism by the Romans.

The Celts borrowed many styles of architecture including the Roman arch (right).

In 43 AD the Roman emperor Claudius conquered Britain and its celtic tribes but never

conquered Irland for an unknown reason.

The celts conquered Gaul (France), Iberia (Spain), the Northern Alps, Germania

(Germany), and modern day Poland.

• Many modern teams are named after the celts

• The celts didn't have many natural resources mainly iron and bronze.

are many and they are lead by nobles.

clan decisions.

NoblesNobles• The nobles were landowners and warrior

leaders.

greatest invention was the bag-pipes, they are known throughout the

world.
