Cell Membrane – Controls what goes in and out of the cell.

Nucleus – Controls the whole cell and is where the Genetic Material is stored.

Cytoplasm – The gel like substance where most of the cells activity happens.

Endoplasmic Reticulum – Pathway through the cell where proteins are made.

Ribosome – They are the the part that produces the cells proteins.

Golgi Apparatus - This is the where the proteins go before heading into the

cytoplasm.

Lysosome – This is the cell part that disposes unwanted things in the cell.

Vacuole – This is where the extra food is stored until it needs to be used in the cell.

Mitochondria – This where most of the cells energy is generated.

Genetic Material - This is the instructions for the cells activity.

Nucleolus – The most inner part of the Nucleus and it makes the Ribosomes.

Nuclear Pores – They allow substances in the cell to get into the Nucleus.

Nuclear Membrane – The outer wall or Membrane that protects and surrounds the

Nucleus .

Cell Parts and Functions

Page 4: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Cell Membrane

• The Cell Membrane is the part of the cell which controls

what enters and leaves the cell. The Cell Membrane is

just like security for the protection of the players on the

team. Security protects the players from anyone who

wants to go to the locker room or on the playing surface.

Page 5: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Nucleus

• The Nucleus controls the whole cells and is where the

Genetic Material is kept. The Nucleus is like a coach in

sports. A coach tells the team what to do like the Genetic

Material and controls the dynamics of the team.

Page 6: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Cytoplasm

• The Cytoplasm is the area in which most of the activity in

the cell takes place. The cell is like a court ,rink or field.

Just how the cell parts do their work in the cell so do

players playing for a team. This there work space where

they do most of the playing and training.

Page 7: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Endoplasmic Reticulum

• The Endoplasmic Reticulum is the pathway through the

cell where the proteins are made and it take the proteins

to the Cytoplasm. It is just like when the teams come out

of the locker room they have to walk down a pathway to

the ice or court.

Page 8: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Ribosome

• The Ribosome is the part of the cell that produces

proteins. Ribosomes are like the players in the cell. They

help produce something whether its proteins or a win in a

game. They if not one of the most important aspects of a

team and in a cell.

Page 9: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Golgi Apparatus

• The Golgi Apparatus is the last place the Ribosomes go

before getting transported in the Cytoplasm. It is the place

that make sure it is the right protein. The Golgi Apparatus

is like the locker room. This is the last place the players

go before getting on the court or ice for the game.

Page 10: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

lysosome

• This is the part of the cell that disposes anything

unwanted in the cell. It is like the clean up crew at an

arena. They are the ones to dispose of all garbage left

there and remove it.

Page 11: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Vacuole

• The Vacuole is the place where the extra food is stored for

the cells later use. This is like the concessions stands at a

game. The concession stand is where food is kept until a

customer is ready to consume the food.

Page 12: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Mitochondria

• The Mitochondria is like the fans at a game. The

Mitochondria is the one who generates the energy for the

cells. The fans are the one who make the atmosphere and

energy louder in the arena.

Page 13: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Genetic Material

• The Genetic Material is the instructions for the cell. It tells

the cell when to do it and how to do it. It is just like the

rules in a sports game. It explains how to play and helps

make sure that the game and cell are under control and

run smoothly.

Page 14: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Nuclear Pores

• Nuclear Pores are holes in the Nuclear membrane that

allow substances to enter and exit the area around the

Nucleus. The Nuclear Membrane is like a basketball

hoop. The hole on top allows it to enter and the hole on

the bottom allows it to leave.

Page 15: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Nuclear Membrane

• The Nuclear Membrane is the most outer wall or

membrane around the Nucleus. It’s job is to protect the

Nucleus and the Genetic Material. The Nuclear

Membrane is like boards on the sides of a hockey rink.

The job of the hockey boards it to protect the fans.

Page 16: Cell project Jonathan haims 7 w

Nucleolus

• The Nucleolus is the inner most part of the Nucleus. The

Nucleolus makes the ribosomes. Just like in sports the

General Managers make the team so does the Nucleolus

make his team of Ribosomes for the cell.
