RCIA The Rite of Christian Initia-tion of Adults (RCIA) class has been preparing to re-ceive the sacraments in groups of four. Congratula-tions to those who were baptized, received First Communion, and were also confirmed on June 2, 2020: Jessica Barksdale, Joce-lyn Guerra, Morgan McCord, and Gabby Sanchez. Virtual Vacation Bible School

St. Matthew will host a week of virtual Vacation Bible School (VBS) on June 22-26 at 10 am. The 30-40 minute daily sessions will consist of the music/dance session, prayer, bible story, and at-home crafts! Each family will receive a kit containing the VBS music CD, a daily craft for each child, and a daily prayer card. Parishioners are needed to help create decorations and loan train themed items to help us decorate the social hall stage.

Our sympathy is extended to the family of +Peter Gauthier, who recently passed away, and to pa-rishioner Barbara Brown at the loss of her mother, +Jackie Krizmanich. May they rest forever in the peace of heaven with Jesus.

The 8th grade Confirmation Class has been continuing sacra-mental preparation at home. Thank you to the parents of these students for helping them prepare to receive the sacrament. The class of 31 students has been divided into groups of 10, 10, and 11. The first group will be confirmed on Saturday, July 11 at 10 am. The second group will be confirmed on Saturday, July 25 at 10 am and the final group will receive the sacrament on July 25 at 2 pm. Only immediate family and the sponsor will attend. Di-rector of Religious Education Helen Almeter will be contacting parents with details about make-up classes, final preparation dates, etc. If there are any questions, please contact Helen at 912-681-6726 ext. 203 or via email at: [email protected] Congratulations to our Confir-mation class!

A Prayer for Justice and Peace O Lord, open our hearts to respect and uplift the dig-nity of every person. Open our eyes to see the injus-tices within church and society. Open our ears to lis-ten and learn from the experiences of people of color. Open our mouths to speak out against prejudice and injustice. We commit ourselves to work for justice and peace, and to pursue a deeper relationship to You, Lord, so that we truly may be the Body of Christ on earth, Your church for the sake of the world; through Jesus Christ. Amen.
