Message from Mr Mellen
Welcome back to the Summer Term, the final term of an exciting academic
year. There are loads of great opportunities for students coming up
including: sports day, residential trips and a trip to Blackpool for good
attenders. This is alongside all of the usual wonderful stuff that goes on every
day for all students.
Well done to all those students who have high attendance, who wear the
correct uniform every day and who get good numbers of behaviour points. If
students are not attending school or wearing the correct uniform, we will be
contacting parents to follow this up. Wearing correct uniform is a strong
indicator that a student has a sense of belonging to the academy and
wants to do their best in all areas. Thank you for your support in this and all
areas.
P Mellen
Executive Principal
Junior University
Miss Morris has invited 50 lucky Year 10 students to take part in
Junior University.
It will take place on Wednesday April 26th, May 3rd and May 10th
from 1.30pm-3.30pm.
Students will experience group mentoring, where university students
will team up our students to work together on joint project-based
work. They will get to visit university at the
end of the year to present their projects and
get out and about on campus. They will
develop their knowledge and skills in a new
subject area, as well as offering an insight
into what university is all about, from
studying to the student experience.
Liverpool Trip
During the Easter holidays, Miss
Morris and Miss Desideri took a
group of Year 11s to Liverpool for
the day. We started off at the
World Museum before going to
watch Ghost: The Musical at the
Liverpool Empire theatre. We then
went to the docks and hung out in
the sunshine.
The students were fantastically well
behaved and had loads of fun. It
was a brilliant day out.

Res Mat Update Message from Mr Kedian;
Amy has worked really hard to produce this lovely
picture frame; which she has very proudly given to her
mother who “loves it “.
Well done Amy
Matilda worked very hard
to produce this stylish
picture frame that
incorporates lots of lovely
design ideas, like the Nike
swoosh and a glittery Apple
logo.
Harvey has
produced a
lovely picture
frame for his
nephew, as you
can see Harvey
has used gaming,
Marvel and The
Simpsons as
inspiration for his
design ideas.
