COMPLEMENT THEIR

MAIN COURSE

… … … … … … …

When hiring new staff, regardless if

they have hospitality experience or

not, it is important for the

management team to be confident in

the base knowledge and skills the

new staff member has. When hiring

experienced staff, management

never truly knows what their skill

level is until after they are working in

front of your guests. Taking these

online courses prior and showing

their competency by passing the

Course and submitting the

“Certificate of Achievement” to

management takes the assumption

out of the equation and helps the

management team lead the new staff

members more efficiently.

Employees to the

Industry & Best

Practices.’

1. BASE HOSPITALITY

COURSE INTRO TO HOSPITALITY

The Base Hospitality Course has been

designed to ensure your employees

to learn the key elements of this

exciting and fascinating industry. The

modules showcase a complete

understanding of the guest, how

important they are for the business

and how to effectively communicate

with them. The Base Hospitality

Course modules include:

1. Intro to Hospitality - Provides

employees with a general

understanding of the hospitality

industry as a whole.

2. Front of House (FOH) - Covers the

two main functional areas of a food &

beverage operation: the Service

Cycle Outlines, Service Standards

and identifies the service cycle of

most food & beverage locations.

3. The Establishment – Shows

employees the various functional

areas of the establishment.

4. What all FOH Employees Need to

Know - Ensures they are engaged

from day one.

5. Training Yourself on The Job -

empowers them to impress their

customers on the job and gives them

the insight on how to use that newly

learned knowledge - making them

an integral member of the

establishment they work for.

2. HOST

COURSE THE FRONT LINE

The Host Course assumes the employee has already taken the base modules needed to understand the hospitality industry and how a food and beverage operation functions. The Host Course will focus on the specific skills and knowledge the employee will need to excel in the host/ess position, allowing him/her to be confident in their new position. The actual host module will outline a typical day of the host, focusing on the many tips and tricks of the job. The other Host Course modules include: Learning Effective Communication, Teamwork,

Handling Complaints & The Typical Wait Scenario. There’s even a module on handling Typical Guest Questions when performing the host role and how to effectively handle these questions.

3. BUSSER

COURSE WITHOUT THEM, WE ARE NOTHING Building on the knowledge and skills from the Base and Host Modules, the Busser Course modules will focus on the specific skills and knowledge needed to perform the busser role. This section will discuss the roles and responsibilities of the busser. Employees should be aware of proper sanitation practices which the Sanitation and Safety module covers. Our program goes over a typical guest scenario which touches on how the guest views cleanliness in the establishment; which links directly to the many On The Job Tools and Skills needed while working in the F&B operation.

4. FOOD RUNNER

COURSE KNOW YOUR MENU

The Food Runner position builds on the Host and Busser courses, working from the Kitchen Service Alley and the guests table. The Food Runner course introduces your employees to menu product knowledge and teaches them how to communicate this knowledge effectively with the guest. This course is essential for those wanting to move into a server position. They must learn what the

menu dishes look like, what the ingredients are and how they are made to be confident when taking orders from guests. They must also learn how to carry plates of food in their hands and on trays. The module on Menu Product Knowledge and Product Knowledge by Meal Period are likely the most important modules employees need to become servers. Knowing this product will show your guests the level of professionalism and pedigree the establishment is offering. When delivering menu items or beverages to guests, your students will be able to manage typical F&B complaints experienced by service staff - this module will give these future servers insights on how to handle guest questions easily and professionally.

5.

THE SERVER COURSE

KNOW YOUR VINO

Being a professional server can take

years. The Server course will teach

them all the skills, techniques and

knowledge needed of the server

position, stuff the professional

servers already know.

The Server Course builds on all the

previous courses. At this point, much

of the content assumes your staff is

already confident in the knowledge

Busser and Food Runner courses. The

Server course includes essential

modules on handling cash where

employees learn the importance and

responsibility of managing the

establishment's money and their own

personal cash. It even tips on using

the Point of Sale (POS) computer

system. This is essential because

most POS systems offer similar

features and functions - making the

trainee learning curve of any new

system much easier!

The Computer or POS System

Point of Sale systems can be quite

complex and may seem somewhat

overwhelming at first, but once

mastered; these POS systems can be

quite easy to use. Most POS systems

offer similar features and functions

making the learning curve of any new

system much easier. POS systems

greatly enhance the efficiency of

servers and provide management

with some very effective monitoring

and control tools. This section of our

training program touches on some of

the basic operational aspects from a

FOH staff member's point of view.

VINO

The Server Course

teaches them the basics

and necessities of

effective wine service.

After they take our course, they

won’t be intimidated in presenting a

bottle of wine to the guest, opening

the bottle and pouring the wine. They

will do it like the professionals do.

As an added bonus, we’ve included a

very special module that outlines the

Good, the Bad and the Ugly of alcohol

consumption and your guests. This

module will provide your staff with a

thorough understanding of how to

deal with intoxicated persons -

something that can take years of

experience to learn.

THE BARTENDER COURSE

Any employee, who has a desire to

become a bartender and can legally

do so, will first need to master the

Host, Bus, Food Runner and Server

courses.

The bartender's domain is uniquely

different as they have to learn to use

new equipment and learn new

product knowledge. They will need to

learn the standard drink recipes and

be able to mix them quickly and

accurately. Bartenders manage all

aspects of the bar from the

atmosphere and guests experience to

the products available.

This course includes: Cleaning and

Stocking of Glassware, Maintaining

an Inventory of Supplies & Mixing

Ingredients According to Recipes.

The Bartender Course introduces

them to all of this, but more

importantly, it helps them

understand the types of equipment

found around the bar and some of

the basic recipes they will need to

know beforehand.

They learn the techniques and skills

needed to work under busy situations

while in direct view of your guests

sitting at the bar. These modules will

share many tips and tricks

professional bartenders have learned

working years in the industry. Our

courses guarantee their motivation to

move through the ranks and into the

most prestigious position in the

establishment.

Utilizing the knowledge and skills

gained in these courses your staff will

excel into their positions faster than

doing it the old fashioned way of just

"gaining experience". They will have

all the necessary skills and tips of the

trade to be able to effectively train

themselves while on the job - saving

employers BIG bucks in training

dollars, redundancies & customer

attrition.
