ACTIONABLE POINTS

1.Dengue may be more in areas of BPHC Nanniode, Koduvayur, Parali, and Kuzhalmannam due to water storage practices.Regular water supply should be provided by KWA,LSGD of concerned areas.

2.Dengue may occur in Vadkkancherry, Alanellur,Kadampazhipuram, Agali.Estate management, Labour department,LSGD should taken necessary action.

DENGUE FEVER3.Dengue in Municipalities of Palakkad ,Chittur, Shornur & Pudusserry is due to construction work. construction agencies, Labour department, LSGD need to control breeding sites.

4. Dengue in - Ongallur, Kongad, Pirayiri areas are due to scrap collection centers/ tyre storage.

Police authorities, LSGD and regular monitoring by Health Supervisors & LSGD

HEPATITIS A & E1.Hepatitis A outbreak is expected in different parts of the District due to the use of commercial ice in marriage partiesFood safety department,LSGD,Police,KWA & Health authoritiesFactory visit, sensitization of factory manager, issue notice, sensitization of people, visit marriage hall on the previous day etc2.Hepatitis A outbreak may occur in Shornur, Koppam, Pattambi, Agali areas due to improper treatment of water before pumping, Water authority, LSGD

Need to visit pumping station once a week for monitoring3.Hepatitis A may occur in Municipal areas & water scarce areas of western parts of District due to supply of unprotected water through tanker lorries.

KWA,Food Safety,Municpal health authorities & LSCD should taken the action.Food Poisoning ,Cholera/ Typhoid/ ADD outbreak may occur in any areas of District, especially in Agali,Shornur,Pattambi,Koppam,Chalisserry& Municipal areasHealth Inspectors & Food safety departments, will strengthen D & O trade ,inspection especially ice plants / toddy shop / sugar cane Jews / street vendors etcDisseminate awareness messages during family functions like marriage, birth day party etc Food poisoning / Hepatitis A may occur in hostels, canteens etc. Periodical inspection of Orphanage / Hostels / Residential schools etc. will be done periodically.

LEPTOSPIROSISProblem of Lepto at Agali, Lakkidi, Vaniyamkulam, Nallepilly, Kavasserry, Vadakkancherry, Kizhakkancherry.Marutha road is due to large number of unused ponds / streams near rice fields

LSGD takes effort to clean them. The actions needed are IEC , Doxy cycline prophylaxis among high risk groups, & rodent control.

4.RAPID RESPONSE TO OUTBREAKSAWARENESS CUM ACTION CAMPAIGNS:This should be repeated in high risk areas (as per vector indices) and outbreak prone areas (from the experience of previous years) and also in affected areas.

BREEDING CONTAINER ELIMINATION CAMPAIGNS:CLEAN PUBLIC PLACES CAMPAIGN: This will be on May 19th. This may be 2 3 days long campaign. This shall focus on all public places like offices, hospitals, police stations, markets, shops, streets etc.

CLEAN WATER CAMPAIGN: This will be on May 22nd. This may be 2 3 days long campaign. This shall focus on water. Organize interventions in water storage areas to eliminate mosquito breeding. Chlorination and super chlorination of water sources in high risk areas. Check all pumping stations and tanker lorries.

RAPID RESPONSE TO OUTBREAKS:Provide treatment and start appropriate control measures if any outbreak. Against vector borne diseases Integrated Vector Management measures to be conducted. Source reduction, ISS & Fogging should be done within 48 hours if dengue is detected. Chlorination and super chlorination should be started if any threat of water borne diseases. This should be repeated as required.
