CCVP Lab Equipment Recommendation

If you wish to build a home lab to practice CCVP concepts (in addition to Voice CCNA concepts), the

following equipment list is a minimum configuration that I recommend. I say minimum, because you

could optionally add on an additional branch office that connects into the Public Switched Telephone

Network (PSTN) via an E1 circuit.

The recommended topology contains three Cisco 2811 routers: one for the HQ gateway, one for the

Branch Office gateway, and one for the PSTN/Frame Relay clouds.

The Cisco IOS 12.4(21)T software can be used on the Cisco 2811 routers if you wish to support CiscoUnified Communications Manager Express version 7.

The Cisco IOS 15.1(1)T1 software can be used on the Cisco 2811 routers if you wish to support Cisco

Unified Communications Manager Express version 8.

Each router contains one PVDM2-8 and one PVDM2-16, which are inserted into the router

motherboard.
