Commissioned by the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA),

the Al Sufouh Tram System compliments the Dubai Metro

by linking the Dubai Marina via Media and Internet cities

through Al Sufouh to the Mall of the Emirates. The first

phase will be fully operational by the end of 2014.

During 2013, the RTA awarded Alstom Transportation

a 13 year contract for the maintenance of the complete

system. Whilst Alstom are world leaders in tramway

systems, the maintenance of the built assets is not core

to their business, therefore Alstom engaged COFELY

BESIX as a long term partner to whom it has entrusted the

maintenance of the built assets.

» 1 No. Maintenance Depot located in Al Sufouh

comprising of: Main Control Centre, Maintenance

Workshops, Storage Facilities, Stabling Yards, Tram

Cleaning Facility, Utilities Compound, Electrical Sub

Stations, Management Suite and Offices, Welfare

Areas and Canteen for tramway staff.

unobstructed passenger access and egress to the trams as

they arrive.
