Cuthbertson High School - Class of 2019 Commencement Monday, June 10, 2019 9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill, S.C. Each senior will be given 5 tickets for guests and may purchase up to 4 additional tickets. Additional tickets are being sold online from May 1-31 through Online School Payments. There will be another in-person opportunity to purchase tickets with Mrs. Dillner from 6-8pm on May 30.
At Graduation, gentlemen – please wear khaki dress pants, a white dress shirt, dark tie, and dress shoes. Ladies – please wear a dress/skirt (not pants), with a top that will not show beneath the gown, and dress shoes. Do not wear the white collar that comes with the graduation gowns. No tennis shoes, boat shoes, or flip flops are permitted for any students. Graduation Rehearsal will be on campus at 9:00am on June 7th in the CHS main gym. Graduation Rehearsal is *required* for all graduating seniors. Students will receive their 5 tickets as well as any additional tickets they purchased online at the Rehearsal.
Attention Seniors - UCPS Graduation Survey All seniors need to complete the UCPS Graduation Survey in Naviance. This is the only way we will know where to send your final transcript. The Graduation Survey can be found on the bottom right-hand corner of the main Naviance page under the “What’s New” section. Please complete the Graduation Survey by Friday, May 17th, so that we can gather the information needed for the Academic Signing Day. A screenshot is shown below:
Senior Academic Signing Day
Senior Scholarship Breakfast Thank you to those of you who have submitted scholarship information. The Scholarship Breakfast will be at 8 am on Friday, May 24th. If you have not done so already, it is not too late to submit scholarship information. Please remember to submit all scholarships received, academic and athletic, not just the ones you plan on accepting. We want to see you there!!
Senior Incentive We will announce the names of the individuals this week who will receive a college t-shirt of their choice for submitting their scholarship and acceptance information. We will hold a second drawing the week of May 20th so it is not too late to submit your letters/emails for a chance to win!
FFA Plant Sale
The CHS FFA plant sale continues through this week. Hours are Mon.-Fri. from 8am-4pm. Upon arrival to the school, please check in the main office before heading to the school greenhouse. Testing Volunteers Needed End of year testing is upon us. If you are an approved volunteer and would like to be a testing proctor or hall monitor during final exams, please contact Stephanie Austin at [email protected] at Cuthbertson High School. Chromebook Repairs
Students should make sure they have their Chromebook repaired if it has any damages or issues. Damages need to be repaired before May 15th in order to have all computers ready for testing. Students can see Ms. Tesemma in the Media Center during lunches on Mondays and Thursdays or any day before school 7:30-8. Students will receive the same
Chromebook back next year. It is important that all students have a fully functioning computer.

Women’s Swim Team Honored
Make a difference and join the 1st Annual Cuthbertson Water Walk on Saturday, May 11. Millions of people in South Sudan do not have access to clean water. Walk a mile in their shoes with a gallon of water, while raising money for the charity Water for South Sudan. Help us reach our goal of $6,000! Congratulations to our Women’s Swimming & Diving Team! They were presented with a Scholar Athlete Team Award the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Dean Smith Center, UNC-Chapel Hill. They had the top combined unweighted GPA in the state for Women’s Swimming & Diving teams that participated in the program! Congratulations, Cavs and Coaches McPherson and Braima!

Class of 2019 Information
College Acceptances: Thank you to those of you who have submitted your college acceptance letters, our Class of 2019 board is filling up! If you have not done so already, it is not too late to submit your letters (or acceptance emails). You can drop off copies, or email them to your counselor so we can recognize you on the board. Remember to submit all letters as we will recognize the specific school you will be attending at the Academic Signing!
Plan on enlisting? We want to recognize those entering the military, please let us know the branch you plan on attending so you can be recognized as well! Scholarships: This year, in addition to dropping off copies to Ms. McAleer in Guidance, students will enter scholarships into Naviance. Students should enter all offers received, athletic and academic, regardless of whether they intend to accept the offer or not. Teacher and Staff Appreciation week - your assistance needed! For CHS Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week we will be serving lunch on May 10 and we are in need of a variety of desserts to serve. Desserts may be store-bought or homemade, ready to eat and not require refrigeration. We only need a few more desserts- sign up here to help. Please bring desserts to the CHS main office on either Thursday, May 9th, during school hours or Friday, May 10th, by 10:00am. Please mark them with "PTSO Hospitality". If you have any questions please email the CHS PTSO Hospitality Committee: Liz Patel ([email protected]) and Diana Skarbek ([email protected]). Attention Class of 2020 The 2019-20 Senior Events Committee has started planning events and activities for the rising Senior class. If you would like to get a jump on next year you may start by signing up for your Senior Spirit Package.

Students can also print out the order form and drop off at the main office with their payment. We need you! Join the PTSO The PTSO is in need of volunteers to take an active role in some of the committees for the 2019-2020 school year. While we have all of our committee chairs for the year, we can still use your help in making the PTSO run more smoothly. If you are interested, and would like more information on some of the open roles, please reach out to Allison Matthews at [email protected]. If you don’t have the time to take on a more active role, you can still join the PTSO. By paying the $10 membership fee, you are simply supporting PTSO programs for the school. There is no obligation to volunteer or attend meetings, though all are welcome. Please join and support the PTSO for the 2018-2019 school year. Click here to join today.
