First Eucharist Mass May 7, 2017 We, as the Cathedral Parish have many happenings

to celebrate. The word Eucharist means thanksgiv-

ing.” Gathering with your Church family for Eu-

charist is similar to a Thanksgiving family meal.

We remember important stories, give thanks, and

share a nourishing meal. Eucharist is the heart of

the Church’s life. When we celebrate Eucharist,

Jesus pours out His graces of salvation over and

over again. We receive Jesus in Holy Communion.

We welcome Jesus into our body and soul.

The Church never stops praising and thanking

God. We can never praise and thank God enough

for His many blessing to our parish.

Today is a day of celebration!

Parishioners are welcome to come to the office to

request a Mass Card or a Spiritual Bouquet. The

Mass Card is a remembrance by which we offer an

announced Mass for the repose of the soul of the

deceased person or for the intentions of the living.

The Spiritual Bouquet is an enrollments in which

we remember the person enrolled at Mass offered

every week for both living and deceased.

What is Eucharistic Adoration? Catholics be-

lieve that the Eucharist is the real presence of Jesus

Christ. Eucharistic Adoration is the worship, praise,

and adoration of Jesus Christ present in the Holy

Eucharist. The Eucharist is displayed in a special

holder called a monstrance, and people come to

pray and worship. Christ loves us without limit, and

offers Himself to us in the Holy Sacrament of the

Eucharist. Eucharist adoration is a way for us to

give Jesus love and worship in return. In its fullest

essence Eucharistic Adoration is “God and man

reaching out for each other at the same time!”
