Conditions for the business, however, were not very ideal at the time of its founding. SEMIX started mixing literally under “garage conditions” and had to produce very little. The initial several hundred kilograms of flour mixed for other bakeries soon increased to thousands, and a gradu-ally built network of sales represen-tatives helped the company to enter the domain of fillings and bakery products as well.We have 200 employees, we produce unique products, many of them the only ones in the industry. The beginning of our business is intrinsically linked with Sesame Bakery in Opava and the time when the market faced a lack of
bakery products. At that time, three Opavian people in their forties decided to bake totally non-traditional products in their town. Sesame Bakery began to produce several types of wholemeal-sprinkled rolls and loaves of bread made with non-traditional
cereals, and the bakery daily faced long queues. Bread from Sesame was very popular and soon attracted the interest of competing bakeries. They wanted to know the secret of such success; they longed for baking mixes to make such good bread. Thus SEMIX
(SEeeds + MIX) was established in 1995.

Semix Pluso always takes care about quality standards:Semix Pluso exports to 32 countries, including Japan, Germany, Russia, France, Vietnam, China, Greece.Our branches are situated in Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.
In the meantime we are extending our manufacturing capacities for new production hall where especially new products made of sprouted cereals and legumes. Hall dimension is 31 x 68 metres which means 2100 m2 of new production spaces.

Caring for nature
We have long been active in protecti-ng nature and the environment. We own 49 hectares of land in five loca-tions in Moravia. In the biotopes we restore the basic landscape functions and support the endangered and pro-tected species of organisms – birds, amphibians, invertebrates and fish. We actively protect nature and try to keep it healthy, preserving it for present and future generations. We hope that our business philosophy will inspire other companies and individuals.
We do not use palm fat
In the spring of 2016, we stopped using palm fat in our cereal products because we are not only a caring cus-tomer but also an environmentally re-sponsible company. As the first Czech food producer, we became a member and then the general partner of the Coalition against palm oil. We adopted a serious approach to the consequen-ces of setting up new palm plantations at the expense of rain forests. Although we were taking palm oil from the original plantations under the RSPO program, we have decided to replace it with coconut and olive oil and, eventua-lly, sunflower oil. Sunflower is a Europe-an crop that is grown in our country, so it is a more natural alternative common-ly used in the food industry. However, if the customer requires the use of palm fat because of the requirements of the product‘s properties, we select palm fat from the plantations of which we know that they grow and obtain it in a consi-derate way.

For more than 20 years, SEMIX PLUSO has been regarded a leading Czech poppy maker. Proper harvesting decides on the post-harvest quality of the poppy, especially in relation to its tas-te and shelf life. The production process is preceded by effective cleaning on state-of-the-art machines, where the technological process of poppy treatment is fully automated and eliminates the influence of the human factor. Our stabilized ground poppy is sanitized, reduced in terms of morphine quantity and therma-lly treated.
Morphine reduction is our priority
We are unique. By means of thermal steam stabilization, we can: • Bring out the natural flavor and aroma of poppy • Prevent rancidity and bittering of poppy • Destroy vegetative forms of mould • The stabilized poppy and poppy products sold by us are well below the
legislative limit for morphine content.

For over 20 years, our Tvarogen® has been a proven brand of cottage cheese filling stabilizers. It has expanded rapidly on the bakery market and its simplicity of use attracted most bakers. The term “tvarogen” has become widely popular amongst the bakeries in the Czech Republic becoming generally used for all cottage cheese stabilizers available on the market.The functionality of Tvarogen consists in an ideally formulated thickening component and its subsequent behaviour during baking. All stabilizers are produced in an IFS quality certified operation.
Cottage cheese quality matters.We look for inspiration in the innovations of our cottage cheese filling stabilizer e.g. at demanding customers, where Tvarogen® must often meet opposing criteria – baking operations with manual and machine production, various levels of technical equipment, different products or technological processes, and last but not least, inconsistent cottage cheese quality, which has a major effect on the resulting cottage cheese filling.
