Gary is the Regional Sales Manager for De Nora Water Technologies, Inc. De Nora specializes in water filtration sys-tems, wastewater denitrification systems and potable water disinfection systems. He received a M.S. in Civil Engineer-ing from Arizona State University and a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. Gary also holds both Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Licenses in Arizona.

Confined Space AwarenessNellie J. Brown, MS, CIH, Director of Workplace Health and Safety Programs for the Worker Institute at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations, Ithaca, NY

Nellie is the Director of Workplace Health and Safety Programs for the Worker Institute at Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations. She is a certified industrial hygenist, biologist and chemist. She earned her Mas-ters degree in a multidisciplinary program in natural sciences and applied science from the SUNY College at Buffalo. She has experience as a licensed wastewater treatment plant operator and has been trained as a lead inspector, an HIV/AIDs test counselor and in mold investigations and site assessments.

John works at Aqua Aerobic Systems, Inc. as a product channel manager. He has a B.S. degree from Lonqwood College. He has 28 years in the water/wastewater industry working with many technologies including clarifiers, filters, headwork equipment, disinfection processes, biological processes and membrane processes.

Brian Bates, AquaNeredaBrian holds a B.S. degree in Environmental Resource Sciences from Trent University in Peterborough, ON, Canada. He also has an MBA degree from the University of Phoenix. He has worked in the water treatment industry since 1997, working with a variety of technologies including membranes, dissolved air flotation, filtration, sand ballasted floc reactors and conventional sedimentation. Most recently he has worked in product development and product management positions.

Bob works for the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and holds the title Chief, South Permits Section in the Bureau of Water Permits, Division of Water. Bob is a licensed professional engineer in New York state. He has a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and will be President of NYWEA in 2020. Bob has been with DEC since 1985 and has extensive experience in permit writing, treatment technology, technical assistance, training, operator certification and data management.
