I hope you had a chance to spend quality time with friends and family! I would like to personally invite you all to join us at the clubhouse on August 16th for our End of Summer Bash. Please see the flyer on the Social Committee Events page in this issue. Now that the Oak Wilt threat has passed, please take a moment to review your landscaping and trim trees so that they are not burdened with heavy foliage as the trees are still very stressed from the 4 years of drought. Beginning in July council member Gallo’s plan was launched to monitor and enforce the Short Term Rental rules. City Code Enforcement teamed up with Police and Fire to monitor and inspect STR homes that have been reported to be in violation of the STR rules. With July 4th weekend being the first weekend of inspections, the teams were busy. e inspections were hampered by renters and police were not allowed entry to several homes even though it was apparent they were out of compliance with more people than the home was designated to host. ere will be meetings with the City Council a week from now as I write this on July 21st and July 23rd . I am certain we will be seeing much more of this issue in the short term. We launched a revised Cat Mountain HOA website at www.catmountainhoa.com in July. It has a more modern look and is responsive to mobile devices. It is the best resource for information regarding our neighborhood. If now hosts copies of our covenants, Bylaws, ECC Forms, Club house rental information, etc. I hope you will take a moment and review it. Vandalism:There have been numerous auto break-ins in the area recently,

please be certain to lock your cars and do not leave items of any value in the vehicle. These vandals will break windows and do hundreds of dollars damage to a vehicle just to steal $2 in change left on the console.

Tennis Courts:The benches on each court were trimmed to remove ragged ends

of the wood. New hardware was used to attach the timbers to the frame replacing the rusty bolts.

Tennis court keys are available from Jesse for $10 deposit.Play Scape Area:The play scape was rebuilt last year and is in fantastic shape. I

encourage anyone with children to take advantage of the equipment.Swimming Pool:The pool umbrellas are secured in one location for your safety and

we would ask that you not attempt to move them or tilt them. We have found the umbrellas are quickly destroyed by too many people handling them.

Please note the Pool Rules sign has been revised, please review and familiarize yourself with the rules. Glass of any kind is not allowed at the pool, please choose plastic or aluminum containers for everyone’s safety. Please take any trash home with you when you leave the pool area. We would also like to remind dog owners that dogs are not allowed in the pool. There is also no smoking in the pool area.

If you see anything that needs attention or maintenance, please contact Jesse. Pool keys are also available from the manager for a $10 deposit.

Cat Mountain Homeowners Association

Neighborhood YogaCharles Devany, Cat Mountain resident and trained yoga

instructor, would like to offer some free yoga classes by the clubhouse day and night. Please email him at [email protected] with interest and best available times.

At the time of the August Newsletter going to print, the Book Club had not selection their next quarter selections. However, updates will be posted on both the Cat Mountain Community Facebook page and Nextdoor.com.

More information will also be included in the September Issue. The Cat Mountain Book Club, established in 2012, invites new

residents to join us at any time and new members are always welcome and encouraged.

Cat Mountain BOOK CLUB

CHILDProtect EventDwight Granger, Cat Mountain resident along with Mutual of

Omaha Insurance held a CHILDProtect event held on July 11th at the Cat Mountain Clubhouse. The event was designed to increase awareness and educate families about how to protect their children should the unthinkable happen – a child is lost or abducted. If you were unable to attend this event, Dwight will be making the free ID booklets available at the annual end of summer bash on Sunday, August 16th.

The booklet is source in which you can attach a current photograph and record your child’s vital statistics such as fingerprints and dental records. It is designed to hold information that authorities will need if a child goes missing.

Wine ClubThe Cat Mountain Wine Club has been on hiatus over the summer

as many are traveling. However, we hope to kick off our Social’s again in September! If you would like to host an upcoming social or would like more information on organizing a future gathering please email the social committee chair, Charlene Casillas at [email protected]

Cat Mountain social clubs have been formed by residents who share a common interest. The clubs purpose is to bring neighbors together in a social setting. If you would like to start a new group, join an

existing group or take part in planning future events contact Charlene Casillas, Social Committee Chair at [email protected]

though; City personnel are not allowed to enter our yards to gather them• Problems with loose dogs or traffic signals not working• Reporting instances of people feeding deer• And more.
