Bulletin Issue No. 9 Term 3, 24 July 2020
Deputy Principal’s Message Welcome to our first Bulletin for Term 3 2020.
YONDR Phone Pouches
As you are aware the Casino High School Mobile
Phone Policy has recently been modified. We have
found in recent times, mobile phones to be a major
distraction in class and in the playground, often
leading to negative incidents. To negate this, we
have issued each student with a YONDR phone
pouch.
Students are expected to turn their phone off, place
it into the pouch and lock the pouch before entering
the school grounds of a morning. The pouch is not
be be unlocked until leaving the grounds at the end
of the day. Students are also expected to have their
pouch in their bag at all times regardless of
whether they own a phone or not.
If a student chooses not to follow this process, the
school policy clearly states the student will receive
a suspension warning. If there is a second
indiscretion the Principal, after consultation with the
parent/carer, may choose to suspend the student
depending on the circumstances surrounding the
incident.
How Can Parents/Carers Support This Policy?
Please encourage your student to bring their
YONDR phone pouch to school every day. If you
need to contact your child urgently please ring the
school office and a message can then be passed
on to your student.
Uniform
We are still experiencing cold weather. Students
should have plain blue or black jumpers. Students
who continually wear tights without bringing a note
from home or without a valid reason will be asked
to change into appropriate clothing or the parent/
carer will be contacted to make arrangements for
suitable attire.

Year 10 ‘LOVE Bites’ Program Year 10 students will be participating in the
NAPCAN ‘LOVE BiTES’ program 28 and 30 July.
This program looks at Domestic Violence and
Sexual Assault, exploring how we as an individual,
a school and a community are able to stand up and
say NO! Students are invited to actively participate
in the program across the two days through group
activities, art works and in hip hop sessions.
Students are supported throughout the program by
our School Counsellor and Youth Worker. If you
have any concerns with regard to your student
attending, please don’t hesitate to contact the
school and speak to the Deputy Principal, Miss
Bennett.
