OVERVIEW:

Mr & Mrs Meller had purchased their dream home … well dream home from its potential and the character it portrayed, but they had a vision for creating a house that would become the ‘home of their dreams’.

They quickly instructed PWJ Architects to work with them on redesigning the property so that when the redevelopment and refurbishment was complete it was unique, and met every specification they had dreamed of and more.

MCS were introduced to The Mellers at the tendering stage and the personality and direct style of Construction Director Peter Attewell provided them with an immediate feeling of trust, openness, and teamwork that meant MCS were selected to deliver this very personal project.

OUR BRIEF:

MCS were instructed to complete the demolition within the body of the house and to then complete the reconstruction of the interior and the refurbishment of the property.

The new property was to include 8 Bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, 2 Offices, lounge, Open-plan living space including Kitchen, family media room, and gym, plus a walk-in attic and compulsory bat roost! Outside the works included the building of a large terrace and pool and driveway refurbishments.

THE PROJECT:

Over 18 – 24 months MCS worked in partnership with The Mellers, PWJ Architects and William Nash to dismantle and then rebuild the luxury home. Led by Peter Attewell, a specific request of the client, the MCS team including specialist sub-contractors delivered a professional, well-organised programme of works.

Regular project meetings and frank and open dialogue on progress, issues of concern or areas of design that needed refinement meant that together MCS and The Mellers drove the project to successful completion.

SUCCESS FACTORS:

MCS, William Nash and The Mellers agree that the success factor for this project was the personable and open and honest nature of the key Team leadership members.

Their professional attitude, creating a well-organised team, focussed on achieving the highest quality workmanship to create an environment for The Mellers to enjoy every day.

“MCS made us feel like the most important client they had, even though they manage multiple clients at any one time.

They were brilliant at setting expectations, keeping to them and working with us as a team.

They knew they were working on a home rather than someone’s place of work or somewhere you visit and their pride in the quality of the final house was amazing! They expertly co-ordinated their team and brought in specialists, where needed, to ensure an excellent finish in all areas. ”
